A DEAL BREAKER

MIRANDA

Hazel sat on his bed drinking. His laptop was beside him to indicate that he had been working. Other than the bottle of wine in his hand, there were two bottles on the floor and he had already emptied them.

He seemed lost in thought and did not even turn when I entered his room.

"Hazel," I called his name and moved closer to him.

"Get out," he ordered when he turned and looked at me.

"I am not leaving," I told him. "We need to talk, Hazel."

He shook his head, "No, Miranda, I am not in the mood to talk. I don't want you to be around me right now. Please leave, otherwise I will leave the house and go somewhere else."

I stood for a while, staring at him. I recalled how I had been explaining myself to him since Collins and everyone else arrived and clenched my jaw in anger.

Without another word, I turned and walked out of the room.
