Risking it

STORMIE

I looked out to the sea, feeling the salty breeze brush against my face as we sailed through the ocean. It was one of my mom's yachts, 'The Queen's Serenade'. It was a beautiful vessel.

I left the gym because there was nothing more excruciating than watching Cricket flirt with Grealish, the stepfather we had just been introduced to less than 24 hours ago.

As I strolled along the deck, I noticed a tall figure standing near the quarter-deck. He had a confident stance and an aura of adventure surrounding him.

I approached him thinking he would make a fine distraction. I needed a distraction badly.

His name was Wilson and he was the Captain. He looked like he was in his mid-twenties with dark hair.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Stormie." He said.

He looked like a nice guy. I had my share of nice guys and I wanted to try something different. No more nice guys.

Wilson showed me the controls and explained what they did while I pretended to pay attention to what he was saying.
