The drive back home was quiet, no one spoke. Someone needed to break the ice.

“I'm sorry if I pressured you into doing it.”

“Okay.”

“I promise it won't happen again.”

“Okay.” He repeated.

“I said I'm sorry.”

“Okay.” He acknowledged.

“Just Okay?”

“You need me to say more?” He asked.

“Yes I do.”

“Amelia, there's nothing left to say.” He concluded and came to a stop in front of the gate. I couldn't step out of the rain, I was scared too.

“I'm really sorry Evans.”

“Okay.”

“Enough of the okays!” I said in frustration. I couldn't take another one of his Okay.

“You can get down.”

“I can't.” I responded

“Why?”

“I'm…I don't like it when it rains.”

“No one does, there's an umbrella you can take.”

“No…I'm..I”

“You're scared?”

“Yes.”

He breathes in and out before responding, “Get out of the car Amelia.” and with that he drives off.
