The smart Ekaris who always knew how best to get what he wanted has done it again. After he had successful inculcated the news to Enola, he really fought very hard to fix himself somewhere. To the extent it had gone, the both of them were already speaking on the phone regularly. It was one phone call on a faithful day that changed courses. On the other side, Bruno was already giving her less attention and more to Michelle. She didn't bother to query him or did anything wrong. She also had someone to give her time and attention to. Though, Bruno noticed that things weren't flowing like before, but he didn't bother just like I said earlier, he was really occupied with someone else. So, he just gave back the same energy. “Hey… are you ok”, Enola asked on the phone. “Yes dear, just took a shower”, Ekaris replied. “That’s nice, I was wondering if you can come and see me in the house”, she asked. “Why not, I’m on my way already. “Our last meeting didn't end well right?" Enola sounded on the phone. “Yes, I guess so. Did your mum ask you any questions?" Ekaris asked eagerly. “She didn't even suspect that, thanks goodness we didn't go inside the bedroom before she entered", she stated. “By now, I might be in the police station waiting for bail", Ekaris as both of them burst into laughter. But come to think of it, the mother could have really done that. She knew top people in the police as she had eyes on security matters. She might probably do it just to make sure that her daughter is very secure or even put both of them in order to secure the safety of the house. Their discussion over the phone was very intense and daring just the way she normally did with Bruno. That was the very first deep and arousing call they had made ever since they started talking to each other. So, aware of what has gone down, it became a necessity to keep matters secret at all cost. But why is it that when someone tries even harder to conceal something, that’s when it forces itself out from no where. Enola knew about Bruno’s affair with Michelle but Bruno wasn’t aware of hers with Ekaris. Clinton was the only one that knew. You might wonder why he was just out of all the mess, but like I have said earlier in some part of this book, he wasn’t that kind of person that appreciated love and affection. He was just there and those stuffs didn’t trouble him. Maybe, that might also be the reason why none in the circle went for him because he wasn’t romantically favored. He was comfortable with the fact that no one approached him for any attachments or feelings, he was comfortable not having a serious relationship like Bruno, he was comfortable being out of the picture entirely. Bruno couldn’t live with the pain and disheartening effect of what Clinton had earlier told him. He was confused on the actual thing to do whether to confront Enola first or Ekaris. He was very uncertain how to go about that and as he was contemplating on that, the time for them to meet came. Sorry I didn’t mention this earlier, the Paragons had a meeting day. A day when everyone ought to be free. It was usually Friday evenings that most times, escalate to late in the night. So, that evening’s meeting, there supposed to gather at there normal joint unless they made a joint decision to gather at any of their houses. That particular evening, a decision had already been made that their gathering would be at Ella’s place. “Oh my goodness! I had earlier on made a constructive prophecy that came out of simple imagination and suspicion about something relating to cold and ice on conjunction with the winter. Seemed I was right though, I’m always right. The winter comes with unimaginable cold, sometimes overwhelming and brutal. We all know that living things like to take cold substances but in ourselves, we don’t want to get extremely cold as the substance. How dare venture into the ice road or ice water, seems death is beaconing on you. No one with his or her right senses goes in contact with ice. That’s the same way it is with our lives. When we are cold within, we scare people away likewise when we are too hot. Life needs to be balanced at all cost.The truth having been revealed, everyone knew who was who and what they did. It would be so insignificant for the Paragons to dismember just like that. The matter was very implicating and weird. But that not withstanding, a friendship built for a very long time shouldn't go into extinction because of an issue that if well reconciled, the stronger they become. They had the grieve quite alright but the sudden long distance wasn't necessary. One thing was certain, if they had gone back together, things wouldn't return to the normal way it used to be so, it's better for everyone to just stay and plan ahead. What would be would definitely be, just a matter of time and fate.After Bruno had traveled, he roamed his line in case someone wanted to get to him.
