Chapter 7: The Principal of White Day
Lucas was called to talk. They went into the Principal's Office. Lucas was sitting just like what he did back then at Aspho High. The girl from before sat on the table. She was Principal Lyns!
The whole room, the whole setup… they were quite similar. The paint of the room, the designs, the scent —Lucas has no clue why both the Principal's Office of two different schools, Aspho and White Day, would appear this similar.
He was still puzzled since a canteen fire also happened at this school, the White Day High he studied on. It was a mystery why would that happen? If the Two Bastions weren't the culprit, then who would be?
He just stared at how Principal Lyns laid her back comfortably on her chair. Her getup, her clothes; such eloquence… Nostalgic to think about, but here he went again for an interrogation.
Before, he kept denying what
Chapter 8: A Gift from the AsphoesLucas went to his apartment and dealt with his thought overnight. He was so confused and has no one to ask for help. He didn't want to disturb Moon with handling his problems. They were cousins but that was futile and he respected his time.He became willing at joining the tournament, but now, what if his friends were there, too? And that school, that was not just a school he can neglect with a due time of less than a week. He had cherished that school ever since he was in High School. He also cherished those friends that made his Aspho years wonderful. Those years weren't just anger towards the system and anger towards Vacio. Many students were nice to him and they treat each other as family. Without Vacio in sight, it was still a reputable place.Lucas spent the night while crying, as he covered himself inside his blanket. He over cried himself and didn't know tha
Chapter 9: Those Worthy Negotiations"Blaze… Blaze Harper…"A calm voice heard to be calling Lucas. It was calmly horrifying! It was like a voice that was so deep that it started to hoarse. Not just that. It felt like it has a vocoder that added to its texture."Blaze Harper… of White D—!"In the hallway of the White Day High's ground floor.Lucas stood straight with his head bowed. Mister Vacio surely will use his power to treat people as his pets. This trick of him was widely known all over Aspho, but no one would dare to spit the truth. They had all the power to shut a single mouth."Blaze Harper, we believe that you have great potential for the upcoming tournament. We would like to re-invite you to our school."Lucas felt a sudden thud inside his chest. Were they for real? He knew Aspho High more than anyone
Chapter 10: Prove Your Godly PotentialOn the day of Lucas' proving. Many of the White Day High's students have gathered around the school's gymnasium, wanting to catch a glimpse of the action.Principal Lyns didn't stop Lucas with whatever plan he has in mind but she canceled all the training this day to hold the occasion. In her words: "Lucas, you think proving yourself having Godly Potential is easy? Hard work would never be enough. You need to possess a high amount of magic power and agility to sustain it. Also, you were just a transferee and your skills were newly discovered. But still, show me the extent of your skills. I'm rooting on you."Lucas didn't let any objections arise. He respectfully bid Lyns farewell and headed to his apartment with Moon. The usual habits he was used to —sleeping, scrolling through phone, waking up— wasn't the habit he ended up with
Chapter 11: The Fire EvaluationLucas held his right hand that was way too exhausted to continue the fight. It felt like it has broken bones due to the baseball bat hit earlier. He panted hard as he started to create fires with his left hand and rushed towards the monsters in front of him. They stopped doubling in number and now, they were almost fifty in total.Every man stroked him with their bats as he evaded each of them with difficulty, yet he delivered his punch to three of those men. They were backed off for a second, but they relentlessly attacked him with grit and fury.Lucas and the gargantuan continue their struggles against one another. However, none of those men displayed faintness or exhaustion."We liked your passion…" one of the gargantuan men commented, their faces provoking Lucas.Lucas decided to shield himself with some circular fir
Chapter 12: His Right ArmEveryone turned towards the voice. In the row of judges, Shad Cagney was sitting with his hands clasped. Lucas gave him a narrow stare. What would this freak do this time?He was such a pain in the ass right before he was an Aspho High Student. He opined all people that will come in his ways that hindered his and Vacio's plans. Right now, what plan did this freak has on mind?"Lucas was good, just about achieving the standard that the Two Bastions have set in…" Shad Cagney slowly opined. "But, don't you think he is simply being a no-go? The powers were just too high. You consider someone like this having Godly Potential?"The gymnasium was silent after hearing Shad's views. On the stage, Lucas remained calm from the outside, but inside, he was furious. He treated Shad well in the past, just as he treated Vacio with respect before anyth
Chapter 13: Meeting Mister CliveLucas was still trying to figure it out when Principal Lyns went on. Who would be that Coach Clive? He remembered he'd heard that name from Principal Lyns but he can't recall when it was.He decided to lay on his bed and grabbed his phone from the small cabinet beside his bed with his left hand. He almost hit the lit lampshade that was inches away from his phone. It caused pain in his right arm. He removed his cast because it felt like it was treated too much. He didn't need something like casting for such an injury like this.He checked his mail he expected that no one messaged him. In fact, it was no new thing. Who would check up on him except Moon? Apart from him, he has no person now that he was close to.But he was wrong. Some unknown emails were sent to him. He checked one of them. It was from @cunningham.kyle saying, "I've watched you perform with your Godly Po
Chapter 14: Reminiscing Moon's ParentsMoon and Doll sat on the balcony not too far from the school. The guy started to recall his past. It was his parents Death Anniversary, on the thirteenth day of September.Doll gave him a sight of sympathy. "It was sad, but we have to keep going forward, towards the future," she stated to Moon. "If we're stuck from the past, we will never be able to move on."Moon started to massage his temples and sniffed with his nose. "You don't understand, Doll. It was still hard to accept it." he cried. "They died and they deserved it!""Moon, aren't you being overboard?" she curiously inquired. "Don't say that your parents deserved their deaths. They love you, aren't they?""They didn't!""How come?" she asked. "How can I understand you if I don't know what had happened?"Moon looked at her. It was hard for him
Chapter 15: The Skill SelectionThe trainees in the large hall gathered in small groups, excitedly discussing the selections. The schedule where it was held began this day. It has been days after Lucas has shown his Godly Potential. He has nowhere to sit on as he noticed most of the students heading towards this large hall. Before the wide door, a sign was posted on the front, saying that the Skill Selection will only be held inside this hall.Walking inside, he noticed lots of seats beside the wall, but all of those were occupied by nervous students trying to cease their nausea. Some were cheering themselves, some were cheering others. Three to five wandering coaches were talking to some students, and giving them a piece of paper. He tried inspecting what those papers were, and he learned it was a draw lot that has a number on it. It will maintain the order on what class should go on first, second,
