chapter one

With every adventure, a best friend by your side always makes it better. So Tiana was confident about going back to school even with the feeling of impending danger hovering over her head because of one thing and one thing only, the presence of her best friend being there.

After preparing breakfast Tiana called her parents down by standing at the foot of the stairs and simply shouting up to them saying," Mum! Dad! Fooooood!" Then she sat down with Jess and Asher to have there's. Tiana's dad Oliver walked into the kitchen first looking very happy and well rested his wife right behind him looking like she got hit by a truck, the exact opposite of her husband. The first thought on Tiana's mind was that of her mother might have come down with something and that was what she asked of her.

"Mum, are you okay?" Her mother just gave a nod muttering something about coffee under her breath. On the other hand Jessica understood the situation quite differently and wasn't afraid to speak her mind.

"Oh nice!" Jess said amused. " Morning sex, nice one Mr Wints," she added patting at his shoulder. Tiana's father choked on his spit, Asher chuckled alongside Jess and Vera remained stunned looking at Jessica in disbelief and that how the three of them ended up in a hot car earlier than expected. Now the three of them sat in silence in their pajamas as Jessica drove them to school. They were kicked out of the house faster than they anticipated and in all honesty Tiana was relieved. Tiana's parents were one of those parents who easily got uncomfortable at the mention of their sex life, which was what Jessica did. It was kinda funny because they definitely didn't know how to be quiet when they were you know doing the deed.

"Argh," Asher groaned from his position in the passenger seat of the car, letting the book he was trying to read smack his face.

"How long till I drive?" He whined.

"Until we safely get to our destination without getting the cops attention,"Jessica answered her eyes fixed on the road.

"Pst, and I thought I was suppose to be the nerd here. I miss Christoph you girls are no fun," Asher retorted huffing at the end before looking out the window. Tiana on the other hand was stalking her crush on his I*******m account. She had always liked him but never in the period of time she new him did she ever try to say hi or even talk to him. It's like a marinate and Adrian kind of relationship and Alia is played by both her best friends. Though no matter how much she tried to convince them to stop trying to get them together they still went ahead and blatantly ignored her.

Like the time Jess opened up a tender account for her and tricked Tiana into going on a date with him, him the guy that shall not be named. Troy, oh shut up Tiana retorted to her own mental remark. She kept scrolling through his page until she received a notification that he just posted another one of his pictures, she immediately clicked on the notification and his new image lit up her phone screen. He was in a lecture hall seating at his usual spot looking as handsome as always, his muscular arms on display. He was in a black T and grey shots, his feet were cut off from the pic. She paused drooling over the same picture. I wish you were mine, she thought to herself knowing that he couldn't be.

"His dreamy isn't he?" Asher asked her from the seat besides hers. Tiana jumped at the sound of Asher's voice whispering in her ear. She was so distracted by Troy that she hadn't noticed him move or the car stopping or Jessica missing. " Wow! It's just me Ana, easy," Asher exclaimed narrowly missing being back handed by Tiana.

"You fucking scared me!" Tiana exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, I honestly thought you felt me seat next to you," Asher assured looking sorry, his glasses croked on his face from his previous movement. Tiana just rolled her eyes putting her phone down as she did. "You know if you just said hi to him once he'd tots ask you out, righ?"

"The problem isn't saying hi, the issue comes in when getting to know him," Tiana replied leaning back into her seat, her eyes closed as she imagined what she just said.

"I don't get it," Asher said sounding as confused as his words predicted.

" It goes against crush code," Tiana said her eyes still closed.

"What do you mean?" Asher asked still sounding very confused but this time he sounded more interested than confused.

"Well there a lot of rules but the number one is don't try to get closer to your crush, because knowing them is very risky," she said turning to meet Asher's gaze.

"Oh, I see. So in short your afraid you might not like him and lose those feelings?" Asher asked.

"Bingo, and maybe he might just crush them so I'm protecting both my fantasy life with him and myself," Tiana smiled brightly feeling better that Asher now understood her situation.

"I'm sorry but who made these rules?" He asked.

"I did," she replied still smiling.

" Oh"

"Why oh?" Tiana asked him her smile falling.

"It's just dumb," Asher replied before he shrugged, getting out of the car to go and see what was taking Jessica so long in the minimart they stopped at.

Tiana huffed out an unamused chuckle before following him out the car to the parking lot. "My rules aren't stupid," she argued.

"Okay," said Asher shrugging as he pocketed his hands walking casually towards the store.

"Don't okay me you tall lemon tree my rules are awesome and your going to respect them," protested Tiana sounding very much like her best friend.

"Lemon tree?" Asher questioned turning to face her. Tiana not anticipating his moves went face first into his hard chest.

"Yes because your being bitter," she replied taking a step back.

Asher chuckled before turning to open the door to the minimat and leaving Tiana outside. She entered a few minutes after him and immediately stopped in her tracks at the heavenly aroma that enveloped the place. Her mind completely emptied and the only thing she could think about was finding the source of the smell. Slowly her feet started moving her through every Isle the jingle of the store bell completely going over her mind. As she closed up on the source it took her back to the front door and without anymore hesitation she exited it and entered the parking lot where she remained frozen at the sight of him.

Him, she thought looking at his silhouette from a distance. He was the most beautiful man she had ever seen and would never see again because as fast as he appeared he disappeared from view.

That night she laid looking up at the ceiling of her dorm room replaying the scene from the packing lot over and over again until she drifted off to sleep thinking about how one can be so beautiful and yet so unreal.
