WINTER POV

I flung my hands in the air and did a little stretch. A wide smile appeared on my face as I heard several pops in my back. And I heaved a breath as the tension in my muscles subsided.

I turned as I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Hey, did you get paired up?" Linda, the only girl who wasn't afraid of what Summer would do to her, asked me.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Summer scowling, but I ignored her and shook my head. "I didn't get paired up. Is it necessary?"

I saw the other students in pairs and even trios. They each formed a group, but I was the only one by myself. Perhaps, Summer had done something for me not to get paired up. Not as if I cared. I could train by myself. It wasn't combat training, and I didn't think it was necessary to get paired up.

"It is necessary," Linda mumbled, and she leaned into me a little. "I guess you and Summer will face each other because she's without a pair as well."
