Chapter SEVEN

Diana could not reckon what she had just witnessed. Of all the girls in the room, her brother had headed straight to that impudent snob of a girl.

That was pure sorcery and she was not going to let that slide.

She had seen what that girl was capable of doing to someone who was below her standard and that was not an acceptable attitude of a Luna.

Having such a girl as Luna If the pack will do more harm than good to them all. It will be a catastrophe and she was not going to let that come to pass.

She hastily mounted the staircase and followed her brother into his bedroom with a perpetual scowl masked on her face

"Any girl, but Louisa" She announced once she got into the bedroom and Achilles pivoted to face her with a surprised look.

  "Why not?"

"She won't make a good wife talk less of a good Luna. That girl is nothing but a deplorable snob!" she cried in resentment.

"Whoa, whoa, calm down. Calm down. You wanted me to get a wife and I have, now what's the cry?"

"My cry is that you cannot marry that girl. Go back in there and choose any other girl, only not Louisa Donovan!"

"I'm afraid I can't do that. What is it you have against her, by the way"

"I saw her earlier, she has a slave named Bella. She treats her poorly. I saw her hit Bella for absolutely no reason out there in the yard a while ago. She is not a likable person and I can't approve her into this household" She declared firmly and Achilles walked helter-skelter in the bedroom with both fists clenched by his side.

The fact that Louisa hit Bella did not sound pleasant to him. He didn't like seeing her hurt and if it were up to him, he would have chosen Bella as his bride, but he couldn't.

He needed not only a wife, but a Luna as well. Bella would make a good wife, because she was soft spoken and really charming, but she would not make a good Luna because she had no knowledge of hegemony. The last thing she had was self reverence and she was the most susceptible creature he had ever met in his life.

Those were not characteristics of a good Luna.

A good Luna was supposed to be fierce, powerful, bold and was supposed to possess a great deal of superiority complex. Those were traits he had seen in Louisa and that was what made him choose her.

She did not have the qualities of a good wife, but she had the qualities of a good Luna and that was what was more important because the Pack's well being came before his.

He would rather give his subjects a good Luna and suffer than let them condone a vulnerable Luna just because he wanted to satisfy himself.

"Diana, I have my justifications for choosing Louisa"

"And what are they? Pray tell!"

"Well, you saw Louisa hitting her slave, what characteristic is that?"

  "Cruelty!"

"No, that's fierceness. She is a fierce young lady, she is bold and she knows how to get what she wants. Those are some of the qualities of a good Luna"

"No!... No!... You know what? I'm not going to have this argument with you. I'm done. I'm so done with this!" She yelled as she retreated from the bedroom.

Achilles collapsed on the bed and covered his face with his palms as he let out a heavy sigh of frustration.

He was sure that he had made the right choice and he really didn't know why Diana was so disgruntled.

Meanwhile, Diana walked into her bedroom and was soothed when she saw her grandmother already waiting for her.

"Grandma he can't marry her '' She cried and this time around, actual tears streamed down her cheeks. "She is obnoxious and cruel. She has no qualities of a good Luna. Grandma that will be the end of us all if he espouses that girl" Diana cried within hiccups as she stood before their grandma, breathing hard as well.

Their grandmother seemed unperturbed about the whole issue. She quietly motioned Diana to sit by her side on the bed and she did.

"Grandma, what do you have to say about this? You can't allow Achilles to marry that girl. Any girl but Louisa"

"Achilles is quite a strange child. I have always tried to understand him, but all endeavors have been futile. He has his way of doing things and I must assert that those ways of his tug my heartstrings every time." She explained and Diana gawked at her, totally confused. She had not the slightest idea what she meant by all that she had just said and how it related to the topic of Achilles wanting to marry a despicable snot.

"Grandma please, the last thing I need right now is parables. I need you to tell me what to do to stop this from happening. I have seen what that girl Louisa is apt at doing. She is vicious, she is not a nice person at all and I cannot let her marry my brother. Grandma please, help me. Tell me what to do to stop this from happening"

"I am tempted to say that Achilles knows what he is doing, but truly, he doesn't. He has studied both girls, yet he chose the wrong girl."

"What do you mean by he chose the wrong girl? Grandma, who is the right girl?" Diana asked impatiently.

"My sweet Diana, your pure heart is the best thing that will ever happen to this pack. I know you are worried about your brother's future and wellbeing, and that of the entire pack as well, but I can assure you that the moon goddess has a reason for letting all this happen. I am not permitted to say anything for now, but I just need you to calm down, relax and watch things unfold. The moon goddess is in control"

"Grandma, you mean the moon goddess let this happen?" She asked looking a bit relieved and when her grandmother nodded her head, she let out a sigh of relief.

"The moon goddess has got plans my dear, so just sit back and watch things unfold. You will be amazed by how things will turn out in the near future. I promise"

And she was not bluffing when she said that.

There was going to be a drastic occurrence..

Nobody could see the things coming.
