The sound of the birds woke me up. Through the window, I could see the daylight. My clock showed seven in the morning.

No way! Kessler, beside me, hugged me while he slept peacefully. I smiled seeing him like that, tempted not to go to school and spend the whole morning with him, making breakfast together, and spending the day doing something fun. Wow, I think I'm falling for Kessler Walton more than I expected.

I kissed him on the cheek, causing him to stir.

"What time is it?" he asked.

"Seven," I replied.

"Damn, we'll be late," he said, looking at me. "Good morning, kitty, how are you? You look beautiful."

"Don't be a liar. I wake up with messy hair and bad breath."

"That's not true, and I have a mega sense of smell."

I rolled my eyes. Kessler pounced on me and started tickling me.

"N-no," I gasped as I laughed. "Kessler, my dad might come!"

"Eva?" My dad's voice made us freeze in silence.

"Yes? I'm awake," I said.

"You'll be late for breakfast," he said.

"I'll be down in five minut
