“This area is a forbidden forest area. You and Lisa shouldn’t be here. Maybe Jessy has the same curiosity as you. Young people have a lot of curiosity. This forest has been closed and forbidden to enter since a dozen years ago. It all started with some strange events that we initially thought were absurd. Many victims died in terrible conditions. Their bodies were torn apart, similar to wild animal attacks. And we found those victims in this forest,” Sheriff Webb said.
“So?” Sean asked curiously as he looked at Sheriff Webb and his father.
Sheriff Webb looked at Bruce, and vice versa. Then Sheriff Webb sighed and resumed his explanation.
“Some people saw wolves roaming and passing through the forest. But the horror didn’t stop there. The villagers worked with a police team to go into the forest to hunt down the wild wolves. At first, we all thought it was a wild wolf. Finally, some of us saw the transformation from human to werewolf, but unfortunately, they could not see the human form of the werewolf. The transformation was terrifying and the size of the wolf was much bigger than a normal wolf. When it found out where we were, it chased and hunted us. It injured and killed some of us on that mission. Since then, the mayor closed this forest, and we called it the forbidden forest. For dozens of years, this forest has been untouched by humans, until tonight’s incident that made us scared and reminded us of the past,” Sheriff Webb said.
“So, how is my sister doing in there? Will she be okay?” Sean asked frantically as he stood up from his chair.
Bruce approached his son and hugged him. They embraced each other. Then, Bruce said, “We’ll find her, I promise you.”
Sean didn’t answer. He hugged his father and leaned his head on his father’s shoulder. Then Sheriff Webb asked Sean and Bruce to calm down and rest that night. Tomorrow morning, the search would resume.
That night, it rained very hard, and lightning struck several times. Everyone had fallen asleep, except Sean, who was still awake. He was anxious about Lisa. If it was true what Sheriff Webb said, it was likely that his sister was in danger if one or more of the wolves discovered Lisa’s whereabouts in the ravine. He did not even dare to imagine anything bad happening to his sister.
While enduring the gust of cold air that entered the tent, Sean hoped God would protect his sister. Not long after that, he fell asleep.
Meanwhile, deep down in the ravine, inside the old broken-down house. Lisa woke up several times because she heard lightning striking several times and a gust of cold air that made her body shiver. She wanted to get up and see what was going on outside, but she couldn’t move her body at all.
She turned her head to the side and was surprised to find Scott looking at her with an inexplicable gaze. Fear and curiosity arose, and with courage, she asked, “I thought you were still asleep. Is there something wrong with me? You’re looking at me like that.”
For a few moments, Scott remained silent and did not answer, then he sighed and replied, “I woke up because I heard thunder and felt cold. There was nothing wrong with you. I was just trying to make sure you were okay. That’s all.”
Lisa smiled and replied, “Thank you. I don’t know how I would have fared if you hadn’t helped me. I hope they find us soon.”
He paused, then turned his face towards the window. There was a strong wind outside the house.
Lisa felt his eyes seemed to imply something mysterious and held something that could not be expressed. Their time together that night was quite mysterious about him.
As Lisa looked out the window, she regretted everything. If only she hadn’t asked Jessy to take her to this forbidden forest and invited her brother and friend into the forest, things wouldn’t have ended like this. Then she burst into tears. Scott, who heard crying, turned around and asked her, “Why are you crying?”
“I-I regret something,” she replied quietly.
“Regret what?” Scott asked.
“If I hadn’t taken my brother into the forest, none of this would have happened. I don’t know what would have happened to my brother.”
“Come on, stop crying. I’m sure he is fine.”
Lisa was surprised and her crying stopped instantly, so she asked, “How can you be sure that he’s okay?”
“Have faith, that’s the least you can do,” he replied as he looked back out into the night through the large window in front of them.
Lisa still couldn’t feel sure about Sean’s condition. She just hoped her brother would be okay. Occasionally, tears would stream down her face. It had been a long night for her.
Back to the battle arena witnessed by Lisa and Sean in the middle of the forest, the battle between the two strongest packs in Stowe Town, the Black Skull Pack, and the Blood Moon Pack. The fight was no ordinary fight, and not just to expand territory, but it was much darker and more complicated.
The white wolf who tried to attack Sean, when he saw the police and rescue team coming, immediately fled and returned to the battle arena. As his feet approached the arena, he heard a weak howl and a cry for help from a familiar wolf.
The white wolf named Fred saw many casualties from his pack and the opposing pack. Blood was everywhere, and the smell was overpowering. However, Fred kept walking, trying to find the weak voice among the many bodies in wolf form lying in the center of the arena.
“Fred, please.”
In the night’s dimness, Fred saw Peter’s badly injured body. He was trying to get Fred to come closer to him, apparently wanting to give him a message.
“Fred,” he pleaded in a weak voice.
“Peter,” he called out as he approached his body.
“Fred, I think we’re just victims of someone.” Peter spit out quite a lot of blood.
“Peter, hold on. That’s enough, don’t go on.” At that moment, Fred returned to his human form and hugged Peter’s wolf-like body.
“Fred, in the middle of the fight, I saw someone watching all of us from a distance. But I couldn’t see his face. You need to find ....”
“Find what.”
Too late, Peter passed away right in Fred’s arms. Fred cried and screamed the name of his best friend and personal assistant. Peter returned in human form, his face peaceful and smiling. At least he had said what he wanted to say to Fred. With a limp, Fred picked up his friend’s body and carried him away from the bloodied battlefield as he continued to say a few words.“I’m sorry,” Fred said.A single High Court headed by three leaders who had the power to organize, adjudicate and decide united the packs in the State of Vermont. Among the three leaders of the High Court, there was one mysterious leader and none of the members had ever seen his face. During pack meetings, this mysterious leader was behind a curtain and one of his assistants assists with everything. The Black Skull Pack and Blood Moon Pack were among the packs under the leadership of the High Court. Fred was an Alpha in the Black Skull Pack. And the fight in the middle of the forbidden forest happened because of the chal
"Tell me, what message do you have for me?" asked Scott."Master wants you to see him now," said one of the men wearing sunglasses with a large build."Why he wants to see me? Hasn't anything serious happened lately?" asked Scott."Master, perhaps you forgot what happened last night?" said the man again.Scott was shocked and wondered how the High Court knew about last night's event."But last night no one was hurt. We're just fighting normally," Scott replied.“Sir, there have been many victims. Sorry, we can't talk much more. We wait for your treatment to finish, then escort you to the Master," said the man again."Ok."Then, Scott stood up and walked out to call the two nurses to come in. Subsequently, he was treated again under the full supervision of the men earlier. After everything was done, Scott wore his clothes and walked out of the treatment room. However, before his feet took further steps away from the
"May I know what was written in the letter, Scott?" asked Mr. James.Scott closed the letter and replied, “My father died of poison. Someone put poison in his food and that's why he died.""Do you have a suspect?" James asked."Not. I never thought of suspecting anyone, but Fred's father couldn't have done something despicable like this. As far as I know, despite competing with my father, he places great emphasis on honesty and sportsmanship. So, somehow I feel a little confused, this letter confused me. Who had the heart to put poison in my father's food? He's never hurt anyone," Scott replied, looking back at the letter in his hand.“But the poison was found in Fred's father's study room. How do you explain that?” asked Mr. James."I don't know, I'll look into this later. Then, am I still obliged to come to Peter's funeral?"“After considering it, I decided it wasn't necessary anymore. I will send my assistant to co
Scott, Tom, and Katie were shocked when they saw the badge. It was Tom's badge which he had always kept in his pocket. And the picture on the badge was the same as the mural plastered in Scott's study room.Sheriff Webb's eyes locked on Scott. The middle-aged man looked at him intently. Then, he asked again, “Mr. Hanson, do you recognize this badge?”"Oh sorry, Sheriff. Y-yes of course I recognize the badge. That badge belongs to Tom and somehow it's in your hands because Tom lost his badge a while ago,” Scott stammered."Sir, are you sure about your explanation?" asked Sheriff Webb disgruntled.Suddenly, Katie remembered that she had to check the food she made. Then she said goodbye to Sheriff Webb.“Umm Sheriff, I'm sorry. I have to go back inside and check my cooking.” Then Katie sprinted into the house and left her two friends behind. Now, only her two other friends and Sheriff Webb were left. Tom could not
"What do you mean by the word "messed up"?" asked Bruce.“There were bruises on her face and her eyes looked puffy. I don't know what happened to her. Hurry up and see her, it looks like she has something to tell you," said Dorothy."Okay, Mom. Then I'll see her now after putting Lisa's things into her room."Then they entered the house. Lisa and Sean sat at the dining table, while Bruce went up to the second floor and put all of Lisa's belongings inside her bedroom. Then, without waiting long, Bruce immediately went back down to the first floor and said goodbye to the mother and his two children, then hurried off to meet someone who was waiting for him at the hotel in the city center. That afternoon, the weather in Stowe was quite chilly, and as he drove carefully, Bruce wished those waiting for him well. Remembering the word bruised Dorothy made him even more anxious.About forty minutes later, Bruce's car arrived in front of a hotel that w
“Scott, looks like he left, or is this his home address?” Tom asked, trying to look through the window."Right. The address is correct. Could it be that he wasn't home? Or has he moved somewhere?” replied Scott."It can be. This house is very quiet, I can't hear anything from inside," said Tom.Katie who felt curious tried to approach the entrance and she pushed the doorknob downwards, the door was opened and unlocked. They were shocked and looked at each other. Then Scott signaled everyone on the count of three they were going inside. The atmosphere in the house was quiet and dark. After the door was opened wide, a very strong stench came out, making Scott and his friends cough while covering their noses. The appearance in the house is chaotic, all things were not in their place, really messy, looks like a house that has been entered by a thief.Scott and his friends split up, trying to search as they kept shouting Bert's name. K
"I think I've seen that tattoo," Katie said."Is it true? Where?" asked Tom and Scott together.“Give me some time to remember it. So, where are we going now?” Katie asked."We're going to Mrs. Jenkins's house," Scott replied."But, Scott, it's getting late. It would be better to continue tomorrow," said Katie."Katie's right, Scott," Tom said."All right, then let's go home now," Scott replied. Then, they left Bert's house. Along the way, not much conversation happened. In the car, Katie kept trying to remember where exactly she had seen the tattoo. Not long after, the girl remembered that she had seen the tattoo at a hot spring event two years ago when several packs who were under the High Court gathered and had fun there. Just as she was walking towards the women's changing room, she coincidentally passed an unused room and heard the voices of a woman and a man.The voice of a woman who was asking about th
"No, thank you. Umm, Lisa," Scott said."Yes? What do you want to say?” Lisa asked curiously.“First, how are your feet? Are you feeling better already? And secondly, I know this is going to sound too soon, but would you mind going out to dinner with me somewhere in town? I know a good restaurant that serves good food if you are willing,” Scott replied, looking at Lisa's face.Lisa smiled and looked at Scott with a happy face. Then, the girl replied, “I have recovered, I can walk and move normally like before. And for the answer to question number two, the answer is I do.”Scott had a surprised look on his face and with a smile, he asked just to make sure, “I'm glad to hear that you're feeling much better. Then, for your willingness to go to dinner with me, did I hear you right?"Lisa laughed and replied, "Yes. I'm willing to go to dinner with you. Then, what is the dress code?”“No need to be
