Chapter 2

Not only was Mr. Gardner awake, he looked refreshed.

Wade could not suppress his emotions. “Dr. Cohen, you’re indeed the most famous doctor in Atralo!”

Dr. Cohen was confused. ‘Mr. Gardner is awake already? This exceeds my expectations!’

But of course, he would not expose himself to such embarrassment. He simply said, “It looks like Mr. Gardner’s condition is better than I expected. Just by inserting a few needles, we can see immediate changes.”

“Ahem, ahem…” Lufian coughed

Korah hurriedly asked, “Grandpa, how are you feeling?”

“I’m okay. For some reason, I feel much better…” Lufian looked at Dr. Cohen and thanked him. “Thank you, Dr. Cohen. If it weren’t for you, I might be half dead.”

“You’re exaggerating, Mr. Gardner. No such thing will happen under my care!”

As Dr. Cohen was speaking, Lufian’s gaze fell on Cyrus, who was standing at the door. He felt puzzled. “Who’s this?”

Wade frowned, and Korah wore a disgusted expression. She then said, “Grandpa, he’s Cyrus Salazar. He came with half of a pendant.”

Right after she said this, Lufian’s expression changed immediately. He looked excited. But he started coughing in pain.

“How… How’s your master?” Lufian asked. He could not contain his emotions.

Cyrus replied, “He’s doing well. He ordered me to come and find you.”

He then handed the envelope to Lufian.

Lufian opened the envelope shakily. After he was done reading its contents, he was overjoyed. “Good! Very good!”

What he said next shocked everyone.

“Cyrus, you’ll get a marriage license with my granddaughter, Korah. We will hold a wedding dinner a week from now!”

“Father!”

“Grandpa!”

Wade and Korah were in complete shock. ‘Is he crazy?!’

‘How can he marry Korah off to this boy when we don’t even know where he’s from?’

Lufian frowned. “What’s the matter? My words mean nothing now?”

Wade’s expression darkened. “Father, aren’t you acting too rashly?”

“Korah, you don’t listen to me anymore, huh?” Lufian ignored him. He looked at Korah directly.

“Grandpa, I… I…” Korah felt extremely aggrieved. She wanted to say no, but with his current condition, she was afraid that she would hurt his feelings.

Cyrus was also a little stunned. He thought that Lufian would be furious and chase him out.

He did not expect him to say such a thing. He even rushed his granddaughter to marry him!

Cyrus could not help but look at Korah. ‘She’s young, gorgeous, rich, and has a nice figure. Marrying her wouldn’t be a total loss…’

Korah felt so aggrieved that she was on the verge of tears. On top of that, Cyrus was now staring at her, and she was so angry that she wanted to kick him out! ‘What a rascal!’

“Alright, it has been decided then. Both of you will get your marriage license tomorrow.” Lufian did not want to discuss the matter further. He shifted, trying to sit up.

But right after he moved his legs, the needle that Cyrus had inserted shifted a little.

Suddenly, Lufian’s expression changed a little. His whole body ached and his face became pale. His forehead was drenched with cold sweat.

Korah and everyone’s expressions changed when they saw this.

“Grandpa! What’s wrong?!” Korah cried, feeling nervous. “I’ll do it! I’ll get the marriage license with him! Don’t scare me like this!”

“Dr. Cohen!” Wade called out in shock.

Dr. Cohen hurriedly checked Lufian’s pulse. His expression changed. He panicked, “Im- Impossible! His blood flow has stopped!”

‘I didn’t expect this change!

‘After all, I predicted that Lufian would only wake up after at least six hours!’

He hurriedly began to perform acupuncture. However, no matter what he did, Lufian did not get any better. Lufian suddenly spat out a lot of blood.

“Father!” Wade’s wife started to panic too. Wade had a strong urge to yell at Dr. Cohen, but he knew now was not the time to do that.

Dr. Cohen’s forehead was drenched in cold sweat. No matter how hard he tried to treat Lufian, everything turned out to be in vain.

Lufian’s body started twitching violently as if he was having a seizure.

“I… I’m sorry. There’s… nothing that I can do…”

Dr. Cohen’s face was pale. He knew that after today, his fame and reputation would plummet!

Doctors must not make any mistakes. Once they did, they would be chastised and criticized by many people.

At this moment, Cyrus said, “Dr. Cohen, you can try inserting a needle into Mr. Gardner’s anterior forearm.”

“Shut up!” Wade yelled resentfully. “You have no right to speak here!”

Korah looked at him hatefully. “Don’t you dare order Dr. Cohen blindly! He has a decade of experience in the medical field. There’s nothing that he doesn’t know!”

Cyrus said plainly, “Let’s just give it a try! No matter what you do, it’s going to result in his death. Dr. Cohen, you probably aren’t sure where to start either.”

“How dare you jinx my grandfather!” Korah stood up. With tears streaming down her delicate face, she looked very pitiful.

Dr. Cohen hesitated a little. He gritted his teeth and inserted the needle into Mr. Gardner’s anterior forearm, just as Cyrus had advised.

Unexpectedly, Mr. Gardner, who had been twitching violently, gradually calmed down.

“It…” Dr. Cohen was shocked. He was confused.

‘It worked!’

“Hey, boy. Where should I insert the next needle?” He reigned in his emotions and guiltily asked for Cyrus’ advice.

Wade, who was furious, saw this and became shocked!

Korah also looked at him in disbelief.

Seeing that Dr. Cohen had taken his advice, Cyrus nodded. “The next needle should be at the lower abdomen. The third needle should be at the acupoint below the knee…”

Dr. Cohen followed Cyrus’ instructions and inserted five needles consecutively. Mr. Gardner lay on the bed calmly. His breathing had also stabilized.

Dr. Cohen was surprised. He turned to Cyrus and sighed, “Thanks, boy!”

‘If it weren’t for him, my reputation would be ruined today.’

Wade and Korah, who were standing beside him, were astonished. ‘It worked?! Dr. Cohen even spoke politely to him!’
