EPILOGUE

"Ayos ka lang bang bata ka?" tanong ni Mama kay Florence.

"Okay lang, 'ma. Nahilo lang po yata ako sa biyahe," I heard her answer. "Siguro nga dahil hindi na 'ko nagta-trabaho kaya 'di na rin sanay."

We visited her family one Sunday to have lunch with them. This is a routine we do at least every other week because I know she misses everyone at home. Like today, after a sumptuous lunch we all shared, we're all just chilling in the living room, exchanging stories.

She used the amount she got from Bermudez Builders to buy the house and lot situated beside their home. This is for her aunt and cousin, so they could live close to Mama, my mother-in-law. I'm suggesting that we could buy a bigger property, but she refused. She says that the house they live in has a sentimental value for her.
