Malikul clenched his chest, the heart was beating loudly with the speed of a marathon runner. His sweat trickled down his forehead and cheeks while he bent forward. He opened his mouth before gasping loudly.

“Malikul?” Wan’s face fell into panic.

Malikul just raised his unoccupied hand, while wheezing in and out. “I… will be okay.” He squeezed his eyelids tight.

He would become weak like this whenever he recalled that memory. The anguish, the anger, the betrayal, the sadness, the shock, and the guilt were mixing together. He was close to her. He had been warned. 

Yet, he ignored it. He thought she was playing. 

But, she wasn’t.
