Chapter five

Camilla Pov

They dropped me off at the nearest bus station- reluctantly, of course. I refused to direct them to my apartment. That would only open doors for more irrelevant visits; and this would be our last encounter.

"Finally, you're home." Ashley said with a note of relief and I took off my shoes, giving her a hug.

"I went through a lot." I murmured while heading to the cushion.

I sat down waving my iPhone X at her.

"Omg, you got another phone? I thought you sent your last bit of cash to your step mum last week." she gently collected my phone, examining it.

My step mum-  the pillar of my home. My mum died giving birth to my sister. So my dad remarried, she was nice for a while. Then the tragic event happened- My dad got really sick. He had a brain tumor. I don’t like to remember those moments because they are the worst I have had. Watching him drift away slowly.

My step mum saw us as a liability, so she made us work three times more. The good thing is she gave us a good education but our incomes she had great joy in collecting. I could ignore her demands but my siblings are in her care, which she always reminds me.

Chleo- the last born is just 15.When shes Eighteen, we all will be free of her. But until then, I will hate to mess things up for me.

I explained everything that happened to Ashley and she jumped to her feet, squealing like a child.

"You met Reece Walker?" She screamed.

"Yes. He owns the biggest mall in Alameda, I know." I replied completely oblivious of the net worth of Reece.

"Shut up! He owns millions of companies and shares all over the world, and you are here classifying him as a mere...mall possessor."

Her mouth dropped and voice cringed in utter disbelief.

“Don’t you remember sometime last week, when the parking lot was jammed?”

“Uhmm yes? “

“Reece walker brought his daughter for a check up at the hospital. Security were everywhere protecting them from the fans who were screaming their lungs out” I rack my brain trying to recall. Maybe I had a day off that day.

“Nope”

"Give me your phone."

She bossily held her hand out and I handed it over.

She connects it to the house wifi as I set up my social media pages. I hand the phone back as she went through my Instagram page searching for his name.

"Are you sure it's this Reece Walker you met?"

She asked again for the umpteenth time showing me the screen, and I stretched my arm out to scroll through his pictures.

Damn he always has the perfect angle when taking his pictures.

His recent picture had 80 million likes and I read through his comments. People really loved him.

Reece, pls marry me!

I couldn't help but laugh at the silly comments.

"Don't tell me you comment stuff like this." I teased Ash and she shrugged, smiling.

"You are really lucky. Reece is known as the biggest player and the hottest in California with pure beauty, and you did not only see him but you touched and sat with him. You are lucky girl!" Ash squealed.

I couldn't help but smile. I didn't even know who I was sitting with or talking to.

"Dumb Camilla was at work!" I whispered, disappointed.

"His wife died when she gave birth to his daughter Owen. Trust me, she's one of the spoilt rich brats in Alameda. Her wardrobe changes every freaking hour."

What! I change my wardrobe twice in two months.

"How old is she?" I scoffed as Ash laid down on the sofa beside me.

She glanced up, "She turned five last month."

"And how old is the mighty Reece?" I joked, earning a laugh from Ash.

"I'm not really sure. Different sources have different ages."

I laid down my head on Ash's lap then a thought flashed through my mind

"Is he single?"

"He's a play boy. Of course he isn't single. The last girl he was seen with was a Brazilian model, Dawn Viviana. I'm sure he's going to break things off with her. He doesn't date a girl for to long." she explained.

"Putting that aside, I created an account in beaver"

"The top trends are senator Michings fraudery, Missing Ellen Brown, and Black lives matter " Ash scrolls through my phone. I momentarily closed my eyes

"Its high time Michings leaves office" Senator Michings started a petition to get black folks out of Alameda, he managed to get two thousands signatures then a case about his fraudery came up. So they closed the case. Formal racial discrimination was largely banned by the mid-20th century. They claim to be the least racist person yet they scrutinize us daily with their thoughts and point of views

I grazed the bottom of my tank top. I was so dirty. Bathy bathy for me tonight.

"Gotta bathe and sleep. There are some left overs are in my bag. Good night."

Ash nodded before going through my bag as I left.

*******************************

"Fucking bitch, you're famous!"

A piercing voice woke me up as I felt someone rip the sheets from my body.

I opened my eyes to see Ash jumping on my bed.

"What is it?" I questioned, irritated.

I hated when my beauty sleep got ruined.

"Sit up and read Reece's fan's tweets about the mystery girl- which is you of course."

I sat up and yanked the phone immediately, reading the tweets and YouTube video. I clicked on a video to fast forward the ad.There was a video of Reece covering me as the female reporter started explaining things that were not true.

"Reece Walker, our favorite homey guy was seen with an unknown girl at Houston bus station street. It seems the two were having an heated argument, but when he realized his fans noticing he covered her, blocking the view of the unknown girl's face. For the first time, we all think this unknown girl might be Reece Walker original girlfriend. Do you think she was accusing him of his promiscuous ways or was she trying to break up with him? The only information we know about her is she's not a white lady but a light chocolate skinned lady. What do you think of the mystery lady? Don't forget to comment and subscribe to this channel for more videos."

I scrolled down to read some of the comments.

-I am so happy for Reece even though he would forever be my love

-Oh pu-lease, she can be one of his maids who he wants to relive off her duty

-How dare she hit my sunshine?

-You all should leave their love life alone. If he wanted it to be a secret relationship, he was right to do that. Probably because he knew how you all would react

-I bless their relationship

-I love the mystery girl, does anyone know her social handles

"Oh my..." I dropped the phone on the bed.

I had no idea people could just come to a conclusion on what they know nothing about.

I looked over to Ash as a pale hue overcame my face.

"That's really huge.." she said.

"It's all false. I didn't even know who the fuck he was until you told me, and now his fans are out there giving their blessings?"

I made a loud 'pssh' noise as we busted into laughter.

"What are we going to do?" She asked.

"I guess nothing. They don't know it's me, so I don't have any problems." I leaned back on my bed as Ash bid me good night before exiting my room.

I just laid there, feeling as though the room was filled with fans howling at me. I immediately removed the thoughts from my head as I drifted out of consciousness.
