She'd gotten home and began thrashing everything and everywhere, it was a far cry from the kind of person she was but after she was done, it had felt right, to have settled herself in the middle of the chaos and think, think of what the hell she was meant to do next. Mrs. Williams had her physically thrown out of her home spewing degrading names at her while she was kicked out, Alita had never felt so humiliated.
"That damn woman! I'm going to kill her!" Sarah swore, pulling her into a hug, she smelt right, and felt right, at least her best friend was here, it was going to be fine, but she found herself bawling a few seconds later.
"It's okay, it's okay," Sarah repeated stroking her hair soothingly, she let her cry until she'd had her fill.
"Now that the waterworks are done and over with, let's talk about how we're going to sue her and her husband for defamation, physical, verbal and sexual harassment. She's not going..."
Alita shook her head. "I don't want any of that."
"What do you mean you don't want any of that?" Sarah shrieked. "You're doing it again, if you'd simply listened to me when I said to threaten him with a lawsuit when this whole thing had started, you wouldn't be in this predicament to start with and now you're refusing to sue them for what they've done to you? Are you out of your mind?"
Alita knew Sarah was right and she should sue, but she had no energy for that nor money, although she couldn't bring up the money talk because Sarah would easily offer to pay for all the expenses but, she wasn't a parasite, Alita enjoyed doing her things, her self. It was why she never asked Sarah's help for anything concerning finance even though she knew she'd help without batting an eye, but it still didn't feel right. She had been hurt today but she wasn't willing to fight anyone or prolong the case more than she deemed necessary, she didn't hold any ill-feeling towards either of them, it was the course of life.
"It's not worth it, they deserve each other, and knowing they'd be miserable together is enough recompense." She said shrugging with a small smile on her face.
Sarah's face remained the same for a while until she let her lips curl into a smile. "They do deserve each other. I can't believe she attacked you instead of her cheating husband. Some women are unbelievable."
"It's not surprising, some people would do anything to hold onto a life of luxury, I'd do anything to be able to never worry about working and money too you know?" She asked giving Sarah a cheeky smile that she knew would piss her off.
"Don't say that! Money isn't all there is to life." She argued.
Alita nodded and said nothing, people like Sarah wouldn't understand, they'd never had to starve for days, or their next meal solely dependent on their next paycheck, it was why she never indulged her in any of the bants.
"Enough about me, how was your day?" She asked switching topics, she saw Sarah's eyes narrow in recognition of what she was trying to do before they lit up as though she'd just remembered something.
"You won't believe what happened to Mr. Alastor!" She said.
"Grumpy face?" Alita asked.
Sarah nodded. "Grumpy face." She affirmed before diving into one hell of a story about h finding a baby in front of his door, it sounded unreal, but Alita knew how very much possible it was, it was like she'd said, people would do anything for money, or in this case, do anything to not have to experience more of the poverty they were already experiencing. It was obvious to her the only reason a mother would dump her child in front of the house of a man so rich, going through all of the troubles was that she knew her child was likely to have a much better life with the person than they were going to have with her, she was probably too poor to afford the necessities.
Alita chuckled to herself, here she was dissecting another person's life like hers hadn't just gone to shit.
"It's horrendous, why bring a child into this world if you can't take care of them? And not just that but why not work harder to provide your child a good life at least? Dumping them with a stranger? That had to be the shittiest thing ever!" Sarah said all the anger in her tone evident. "And poor Mr. Astor, having to deal with this, I could see how frustrated he was but because he's a good man, he simply took her in for the time being."
"I didn't know grumpy face could be so nice," Alita said.
"He is nice and it's been two years, you have to stop calling him that," Sarah said nudging her.
Alita laughed, "I saw him on TV recently, he still looks very much grumpy to me."
She'd met Mr. Benson Astor at some work event she'd escorted Sarah two years ago and she'd come across him, he was effortlessly the most beautiful man in the room, her eyes had been drawn to him immediately and so were the eyes of every other woman who stood surrounding him, hanging onto him and attempting conversation while he stood, with an obvious scowl on his face, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else, Alita called him nothing but grumpy face since then.
Sarah lit up and Alita recognize it was the one she always did when an idea occurs to her.
"You could work for him!" She said excitedly.
"Who? Grumpy face?" She asked confusion etched in her forehead.
Sarah nodded. "Grumpy face, you lost your job with the Williams and Mr. Astor needs someone who'd help take care of the kid until he can figure out what to do with her."
"Did he tell you that?" She asked.
"He doesn't have to, it's what he needs!" She said. Alita felt her heart skip, she didn't want to get her hopes high only for it to be dashed if he says he doesn't need her, but still, she couldn't help the excitement she felt at the possibility.
"You can't be sure." She said.
"No one knows Mr. Astor better than I do Alita, and I know he needs you. Come to the office with me tomorrow, I'll set up a meeting okay?"
Alita nodded her head because if she spoke she might just begin another round of tears but she let her eyes convey her appreciation and Sarah understood it
Sleep came hard that night for Alita, the possibility of seeing Mr. Astor again leaving something unsettling in her stomach, it was the same feeling she'd felt the first time his eyes had met hers in the party and he'd caught her staring at him, she'd turned away sharply but the fluttering feeling had remained and now again, she was experiencing it.
She hadn't told Sarah, it had been hard to admit even to herself that Benson Astor had aroused a feeling in her she hadn't felt in a long time from simply just staring at a man across the room, and tomorrow she was going to be talking to him fave to face, her insides twisted.
It was pitch black darkness before Alita felt a tap on her shoulder, tap, tap, and tap again. She felt a warm furry building in her stomach. She always hated it when Sarah woke her up like that, and she had told her but Sarah insisted it was the only way she would wake her up and make sure she wouldn’t get back to sleep after answering her name and sitting up on the bed.Alita had her pills to thank for her sleepy head. It was unfortunate it was how she could sleep sound and she was always far too deep asleep whenever she took them. She always wondered how her alarm always did the trick. She had never actually believed she always went back to sleep after Sarah wakes her up by just calling her name as she has demanded to if her alarm always woke her up.It felt like she had just closed her eyes and was bout to fall asleep when she felts Sarah’s tiny surprisingly painful hands slap her shoulder.“Ugh,” Alita
"Who likes to be deemed impotent?” Benson muttered nudging his door open. The baby in his hands clamped down his exploding emotions. If some woman didn’t decide to be selfishly irresponsible, he wouldn’t be n this mess right now. He slowed down when he heard the baby moan. His heart skipped and terror gripped him. No, not again. He wasn’t ready for another episode. He had woken up to an alarm that rang earlier than usual, in fact, he rarely set his alarm at all. He was the boss so, except he needed to make it to work very early, there was no need to rush. No one bosses the boss around. She cut his sleep short with a loud ear deafening scream. He woke up and just froze. He had no idea what to do. In fact, he had even forgotten everything about the baby. He didn’t know what to give the baby to shut her up. He had to go on the internet and search for reasons why a baby would cry in the morning. He felt his dumbest when he realized that it was because they were hungry and most babies
As Sarah approached the door to their apartment on her way home from work, she considered the possibility of meeting everything scattered like the previous day. Alita had most likely exploded again, and she was probably blaming herself for talking too much or something.Sarah considered calling Alita to inform her, but decided it would be better to inform her in person knowing dully well that this decision was at the expense of returning home to a wreck, just like the day before.Alita is a composed and well-controlled individual. She is almost always in the midst of everything and prefers to ride the flow of life to wherever it takes her rather than using force and being brusque, even when necessary. However, when she snaps, she truly snaps. She goes berserk and does things you'd never expect her to do.Sarah hoped she would open the door and see Alita. If she wasn't at home, she was probably at a bar, drinking excessively and on the verge of doin
Benson kept a close eye on Alita as she walked away. He promised to keep his thoughts pure, but as he silently promised himself, his thoughts were too quick, and his infatuation had grown from a smolder to full-fledged sexual fantasies. In his mind's eye, he had her in his arms and he was taking gentle nibbles at her neck. He'd do anything at that moment to satisfy his desires. Damn Ben, get out of your head, he told himself as he turned his face away from the door and closed his eyes tightly so that all he could see was a black space in his mind, but his thoughts were stronger than him, not that he wanted to fight it. His thoughts went on more vividly. It felt too real to be a fantasy. As his mind let him see, she returned and jumped him, wrapping her legs around him and kissing him passionately, and he is completely taken aback. He pressed his hands against her waist and wrapped his arms around her waist. He moaned as the warmth from her body sent chill
The first times you do something are always crucial and are usually etched in your memory. You never forget about them. As a result, you do everything possible to make a good first impression. So make sure you don't get labeled a loser on your first day of school, or you'll have to live with it for the rest of your life. Alita wanted to make a good first impression at work so she could progress from there. She got up early and dressed before she had to leave for his house. Benson had mailed his address to her, so she knew where to go. Sarah was surprised and impressed when she awoke to find she had already completed her preparations for her first day at her new job. The strangest thing Sarah couldn't figure out was why Alita kept staring at her wristwatch. Even stranger, she wasn't a watch wearer. Alita hadn't worn a wristwatch in a very long time. She simply does not wear watches. Sarah, on the other hand, kept her thoughts to herself, taking in and digesting what was going on. Th
10.It was the end of her first week, and Alita would receive her first paycheck at the end of the day. She was ecstatic and couldn't wait for the day to be over. She had already planned how she would spend the money. She had secretly planned a surprise for Sarah as a token of her appreciation for getting her the job. She simply had to do something. It was only right, and she was confident Sarah would do the same. Yes, because Sarah was a splurger, even if Alita would never admit it to her face. It's a good thing she had a steady stream of good money coming in from working for Benson, because otherwise their lives would be miserable. Sarah just never stopped to consider how much she spends and how it affects her. She only spends, which is fortunate for both of them. It had never had much of an impact on her. Sarah would see a shoe or a gown or anything she liked and go get it right away, regardless o
Nobody goes to work expecting a catastrophe or anything that will occur at some time during the day and then ruin the remainder of the day or even the entire week. We'd go to any length to ensure that everything goes according to plan. Benson was a meticulous planner who always followed through with his objectives. And on that particular day, according to his schedule. He was attending a VIP party to which he had been invited purely for the purpose of seeing a prospective client and discussing their business. He was opposed to the concept of throwing a party, but he persuaded himself to do it for the sake of the company.Benson disliked gatherings because practically every woman in the room would be smiling excessively at him from a distance, even if they weren't close enough to flirt with him, which made him feel uncomfortable. He never appreciates the things that he receives very easily, so the women that come to him and hurl themse
Alita pulled her thoughts away from the enormous burden she had placed on them.In the middle of her fight to forget what to had found, she walked past a boutique where she spotted a dress she felt would be perfect for Sarah and dashed in to buy it for her. As she checked it out, she hoped that it would draw attention to Sarah's femininity and indicate her appeal to others. The low neckline, the tightly fitted bodices, and the extravagantly designed skirt are all highlights of the dress. Sarah would appear bare-armed and stunning as a result of the reflective material. She bought the dress and hit the road again, this time walking much quicker than she had been. She couldn't wait to see Sarah test the outfit. She imagined the look of delight on Sarah’s face when she finally put the dress on.Keeping a smirk on her lips as she gripped the box that
