Dream 4: Creep

Other Characters Did A Cameo, But It’s Alright Since This Is The First Chapter

“Now, then – “ Hail muttered as he took a deep breath and suddenly stopped walking. His feet are soaked in the river. He looked around and all he could see was green. That means, only the trees, bushes and grasses can see him. “ – where am I now - ?“ he muttered and blew out a sigh. “I hope I won’t see a wild animal here – “  he added as he resumed walking.

Flashback

“So, uh…” he muttered as he looked around. He is in the middle of the clearing and there are flowers near him. “This is really just a dream, right? Right?” he asked.

But, he knows that he should know better since there is no one around him that could answer his question.

He sighed. “Even if I don’t remember it much, but, I – “ he muttered and looked at the castle afar that could be seen atop the trees. He saw the flag fluttering atop the tallest tower. “ – I know that this place is the one in my dream.” He said. “That’s why – “ his eyes narrowed as he gritted his teeth and balled his fists. “ – that’s why I have to wake up now!” he shouted and raised his fist.

He raised his head and looked at his fist. His eyes are filled with spirit.

“I still have to cook dinner and treat my coworkers !” he said, starting to feel pissed. “I just have to sleep, right? Right?” he asked and lay down the clearing. “The moment I wake up, I will forget this and I will immediately run towards my apartment and cook din…ner – “ he said and yawned before he closed his eyes.

Not. He thought and opened his eyes after a few minutes. His thick brows knotted as the impatience in his heart started to increase.

“Tch.” He clicked my tongue when he saw the sky and immediately sat up. As I have thought, I can’t sleep. This is still too early. He thought.

He sighed, trying to find an excuse for myself since, although he is irritated, he also feels panicked.

He stood up and looked around. “What to do now…?” he muttered, starting to feel worried. “I just can’t talk to myself here all day and wait for the night to come and then go to sleep, right?” he asked, then sighed. “I could at least go sightseeing before I leave this dream…” he muttered and decided to walk inside the forest.

Flashback end

“I went inside, yet I don’t know which way to go…” he muttered and sighed as he placed his hand on the tree to draw support because he felt tired from walking for hours. I followed the river since I know that it could lead me to the sea or somewhere, and that this river is shallow, though. He thought and looked at his feet soaked in the river. You could see some stones under the water.

Coz if we meet again

“Huh?” he muttered and turned when he suddenly heard a voice.

Though I wonder when

But still hope it come

“What – “ he said and looked around. “Where is that?” he muttered, feeling both confused and afraid. To suddenly hear a voice in the middle of nowhere… it definitely couldn’t be anything good. He knows this after watching many horror movies and reading many novels.

I’ll pray to God above.

The song suddenly ended.

“Who was that…?” he asked in puzzlement. “It’s so good, both the song and the voice…” he muttered after he decided to resume walking. But, he is still looking around.

However, he suddenly gasped when he heard a hum.

“Where…?” he asked and decided to stop walking too close to the voice and find out where it was coming from. “Wait.” he said when he suddenly remembered something. He then lowered his head. “This is a forest. And I guess I’m in a pretty deep area of it, so – “ he said and raised his head when he saw the light inside the forest become dim. “ – could it be a…?” he muttered and looked around.

His face started to turn pale. The wind’s temperature suddenly dropped.

He hugged himself and rubbed his arms to warm himself. “Hey… you are kidding, right?” he asked and carefully walked so that he wouldn’t slip in the river due to its slippery stones. “This joke at this point of time?” he asked and suddenly stepped back when the wind blew past him. “It’s still the early chapters, and I am just starting the story here – ah, wait. It was the author. But - !” he said and frowned. “ – I am the lead character here. I shouldn’t die, right?” he asked and smiled a hopeful smile but his eyes were filled with tears.

“No, no… there are stories where the lead characters die.”

“But - !” he objected. “I am the lead character! If I die in the early chapters, how can I become the leading character?!” he asked.

“Does time really matter in the case of death?”

His eyes suddenly went wide and the hair all over his body stood on their ends. “Who… who was that?” he asked. His whole body was shaking in fear when he realized there was a voice talking behind him and he just answered it.

No way… he thought, feeling dumbfounded. I heard a story that when you answer somebody whom you don’t know, you die. He thought and hugged himself when he felt a chill. “Who… who are you?” he asked, not daring to turn back.

“Huh…? Should you really be asking me that when you’re – “ the voice spoke and it chuckled.

He felt his blood drained out of his body when something touched his shoulder. A very cold hand… he thought as his face turned paler. Beads of cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he fought not to collapse due to his knees feeling soft and shaking. “

“I – I should at least know the name of somebody that’d kill me… right?” he asked as he tried making his voice sound tough.

“Well – “ somebody muttered.

Hail felt the wind blowing behind him.

“ – sorry, but we don’t give our names.” That somebody answered.

His eyes went wide when Hail felt that somebody tapped his shoulder. “W – why?” he asked after he gathered all his courage to ask.

“Because – “ somebody spoke and pulled him back. “ – we are fairies. Our name is the most important to us… huh?” that somebody behind Hail muttered when he saw Hail’s petrified expression.

Hail passed out cold because of fear and shock. That somebody, who is actually a fairy, stared at Hail, feeling dumbfounded.

“Oh…” the fairy muttered and heaved a sigh as he watched Hail sleep. “Did I make a mistake? Maybe he really isn’t the one who had that strong presence…” the fairy muttered. “Guess I would wait for him to wake up so that I could ask him.” He decided.

Somewhere…

“That presence…” somebody muttered as her eyes narrowed. The cup she is holding broke. “Somebody!” she called out.

The door immediately opened and they came in. “What is it, ma’am?” they answered.

Her eyes narrowed. “Find him!” she yelled.

“Err…” they said and looked at each other. “Who would it be, ma’am?” they asked and looked at her.

Her face went serious and she balled her fists. That’s right. These lowly servants wouldn’t know. She thought. “A black-haired guy that has blue eyes.” she answered. “Find him immediately!” she ordered. “And in secret!” she added and glared at them.

“Yes!” they answered and immediately ran away.

She gritted my teeth in anger. “For ten years… I searched for you.” She muttered before she grinned evilly. “Now you’re the one who showed yourself up to me. Be prepared – “ she said as her eyes glowed. “ – Hail!” she said.

Hail who finally woke up. “Achoo!” he sneezed and rubbed his nose that felt itchy. “Who was talking behind my back about me?” he asked.
