Chapter 8

Jolene's POV…

After closing my eyes for about two minutes but didn't feel anything, I opened them slightly and noticed the rogue was gone.

I opened my eyes fully and was frightened to see the rogue laying next to me in a pool of blood.

What the hell happened? I am pretty sure I wasn't the one who killed it, was it the moon goddess who appeared and killed it?

No, I don't think so!

“Hey, are you okay?”

I darted my eyes to where the voice came from and was surprised to see Harrison standing in front of me.

He rushed to me and knelt before me, my eyes couldn't stop widening.

“I apologise for coming late, I shouldn't have left you all alone. Are you hurt anywhere?” He asked worriedly, and I sighed in relief.

I really thought I was going to die, I am so thankful to the moon goddess, he came at the right.

“Yah! You're so mean, you're a strict trainer and I don't like you.” I muttered, looking away from him, and he chuckled.

“I am sorry if you're angry with me, I promise to go easy on you next time.”

“Whatever, you don't know how scared I was when I noticed that hungry-looking wolves approached towards me. I thought I was going to die, thanks for saving me.” I appreciated him and he smiled.

It seems he loves smiling a lot, maybe because he thinks smiling makes him look more handsome, he is such a dick!

“Come, let me give you a piggy ride back to the pack house, I don't think you would be able to do any other training today, you might just faint.” He teased me and I spanked his head.

“Ouch!”

“You're indirectly calling me a weak wolf,”

“I am sorry, hop on!” he urged, lowering his back in front of me.

I hesitated before hopping on his back, I adjusted well on his back, and we started walking back home.

“Please, don't use your ability to rush back home, I will be so frightened.” I pleaded and he laughed.

“Okay, I promise I won't. Gosh! You're weightier than I thought, I can't believe you're this weighty when you actually have a slim body.” He teased me again, and I rolled my eyes at him.

“You're disrespecting me, Harrison, my father shouldn't have chosen you as my personal trainer. I wonder how many of your troubles I still need to tolerate,”

“I promise to keep my mouth sealed,”

“This will be like the third promise you would be making today, and you're not even keeping them.”

“I really mean it,” he muttered, and I scoffed.

We continued walking down the woods and I couldn't stop looking around, there's absolutely nothing to admire about the wounds.

It's a dangerous place for someone to roam about.

“How were you able to kill that rogue?” I suddenly asked Harrison as we approached the pack house.

“I threw a spear straight to its head, it's not my first time killing a rogue. I have killed more than twenty of them, they never seem to stop increasing. You find them mostly in the woods,” he explained, and I was amazed.

“And you aren't scared at all?” I asked foolishly and he laughed.

“Of course not, I started taking training lessons when I was five and my Lycan process got completed when I attained the age of sixteen years. Occasionally, I do go into the woods and intentionally allow a rogue to run after me for hours until I get drained out and then kill it.”

“Hmmm, you must have been taking a lot of dangerous training lessons. I wonder when I will become strong like you, I am sure it will take a lot of years.” I assumed.

“Of course not, if you take your training very seriously, you can even become better and stronger than me. “ He exaggerated and I scoffed.

“Put me down, I think I can walk on my own.” I said, but he ignored me, we got closer to the pack gate and I tried getting down from his back.

“Put me down Harrison, we are close to the pack house, you want them to see me as a lazy kid who can't walk on her own.”

“Our Alpha's daughter is drained out already, and I am helping her out, just give up trying to come down.”

“Put me down!” “ I screamed at him, but he kept laughing as if I said anything funny.

** At night **

I sat close to my room window and kept staring at the different activities happening around the pack house.

I loved the room I was given, it was on the third floor of my father's mansion, staring outside through my window, I could see the tall buildings around and the large mountains surrounding it.

The cool breeze blew on my face and I took a deep breath. My windows were wide open, giving the cool air an opportunity to penetrate my room.

I loved everything about my new abode, I love my father's pack, their accommodating and friendly attitude is something to talk about.

I don't think I will miss the Sharp edge pack that much.

I can't even miss them because all they have done is to bully and make me feel bad.

I only miss my foster parents and my foster brother, how I wished I left them with a goodbye note.

They will surely miss my presence, and I will miss them too.

I am still going to go back and visit, but it will be after I have grown stronger and different.

The Sharp Edge pack will be so shocked at my comeback, they would probably think I was dead already.

I just can't wait, all I need is focus and determination.

I inhaled and exhaled sharply before smiling dryly.

“What do you think about the Alpha's daughter?” I suddenly heard a feminine voice and I looked around immediately.

There was no one in my room, where was the voice coming from?

“I think she is nice, judging from her cheerful expression,”

I heard the voice again, but I think it was from another female.

I stood up immediately and rushed out of my room, am I beginning to hear things like a psycho does?

I suddenly saw a group of maids down the hallway, they separated immediately they saw me.

I guess they were the one discussing, but how was I able to hear their discussion?

Does that mean I have gotten the ability to hear and sniff things like most Lycans do?

Oh my goodness!

***

I began running down the mountains while breathing heavily, it was another brand-new day.

I woke up a bit earlier than Harrison and began climbing and running down the mountains, though it wasn't easy, but I believed I could do it.

It was 5:57am I'm the morning, but I wasn't scared, the rogues didn't come to the mountains and there were a few guards around.

I successfully got down from the mountain with heavy breaths, I was sweating already.

“Let's go again, girl,” I encouraged myself and began climbing a higher mountain with all my strength.

As I climbed at slow speed, minutes turned into hours and hours turned into days and days turned into years.

Soon, four years passed within a twinkle of an eye.
