How Bad Do You Want It?

Susan was taken aback by the number of onlookers that were at her dad's house.

'What in Jupiter's name is going on here?' she muttered, the closer she got to her former house.

'I LOVE YOU JENNY CALANDA' one of the spectators yelled into the air passionately. Susan made a confused face. Who the hell was Jenny Calanda, and what was he or she doing at her house, receiving cheering from strangers? It was not until she got close enough, that she realized that her dad's house was the venue for some sort of red carpet event. There were a lot of celebrities flashing heavy smiles toward the paparazzi, and lots of cameras took several hundred shots per second at these said celebrities.

'Excuse me' Susan said confidently while she tried to pave way for herself through the clustered crowd that blocked the entrance of the house.

'Hey, not so fast woman, where the hell do you think you are going?' one of the onlookers dared question Susan, blocking her off from continuing her manoeuvre towards the front door.

'Get lost this minute' she yelled at the man, shoving him aside with so much confidence, the rest of the crowd made sure to allow her through without disturbance, though they looked at her funny, suspecting that she was a fraudulent visitor. Susan was dressed in what could be described as rags as far as that gathering was concerned.

'Hey, you there, come and hold up my veil while I strike a perfect stance for the camera' one of the female celebrities called on Susan to come and do her bidding.

'Who? myself?' Susan asked, looking behind her to see if there was someone else that the lady could be referring to.

'You of course, who else?' the celebrity which Susan suspected was the so-called Jenny Calanda that one of the spectators was screaming at, replied. She gave Susan a look that could be described as someone that was surprised at Susan's public show of disrespect. As far as Jenny was concerned, Susan ought to have considered herself lucky to be noticed, even if it was for a reason as trivial as that.

'You have got to be out of your damn mind' Susan murmured and ignored Jenny, heading into the house with more gusto than before. The paparazzi, of course, caught the drama between Susan and Jenny, taking more pictures than their fingers could afford to click on, documenting the rejection in black and white, while Jenny flashed an embarrassed smile back at them.

If not for the confidence Susan wore while she was advancing into the house, she would have been thrown out. The way she was dressed, even the servants at her dad's house looked better than her. She was out of place by several standards and she had no business even being among the crowd of fanatics that admired their favourite celebrities.

As expected, everyone inside the house when Susan walked in, had something for her to do.

'Hey, I need some more wine. What are you doing standing there looking confused? Hey come here, hey this, and hey that' everyone was beckoning on Susan to boss her around, but she ignored them completely. She had a mission there. A long time ago, she had forgotten about that good-for-nothing house. Since her dad sent her off abroad, she had erased the memory of that place, and if not for the fact that she wanted to pick up the clothes and other items that her mom left for her, she would never have bothered to look toward that direction of her so-called former home anymore. never, forever.

Susan scanned the area until her eyes found Joey, her stepsister, and her stepmother, Magaret. They were living the life, indeed. Joey had become an irreplaceable celebrity actress for the past four years plus and had not had one down moment ever since she became popular. She and her mom were basking in the euphoria of the splendour that was going on in their home. Margaret clung to a glass of wine that kept her happy while she received compliments from everyone interested in sending some her way.

Joey was with other celebrities that were in her age group. She was a celebrity among celebrities because all they did was ravish her with compliments throughout the entire time Susan watched them. All because she was a Richard Williams affiliate, and nothing else. That was the major catch for Joey. It had to feel good to be a celebrity because the smile pasted on Joey's face was not one that anyone could remove easily.

'Does her face not hurt from smiling like that for hours?' Susan asked herself while she started to walk toward Joey. Joey's smile eventually disappeared by the time she spotted Susan walking towards her with her chest bulging out.

'What the hell are you doing here?' Joey asked her stepsister, Susan, looking at her as if she had just seen a ghost.

'And of all days, and time to show up Joey added. 'Why now? Spoiler!' she snapped at Susan.

'Where are the things my mother left behind for me?' Susan asked Joey without giving a hoot about how she felt concerning her presence there.

'You lot, please excuse me for a minute, I'd be right with you after a while, I have some family issues to look into quickly' Joey said, dismissing her other celebrity friends that were with her.

'Why are you here? Who gave you the clearance to show up here?' Joey asked Susan in a bitter tone. Her eyes bulged in anger the more her brain registered to her that it was Susan standing in front of her after four years of good riddance.

'I am done with school, hello? why can't I come back to my dad's house if I want to? Anyway, that's not why I'm here. My mom's belongings, where are they?' Susan asked Joey in a more affirmative tone this time around.

'If you want your mom's items, come on out and have a word with me first' Joey replied.
