We all had breakfast at the hotel before the flight back to Italy. As opposed to the conversations that always flowed before everything, all that was left was a tense silence. I parked my car in front of the restaurant he had asked to meet at. It was a posh restaurant that had immaculately dressed people. I looked so out of place in my sweats and jumper. Nikolai held me to stop me from falling to the ground. I cried all the tears that I had been holding in while soothed me. “ Why don’t you trust me? “ I asked while sobbing. “ Shh, baby.
