Jovita's POV I stared at Maddie as she carefully folded her favourite, grey sweatpants. I was spending the weekend at her family's mansion in Green Valley, the loveliest part of Forktown. It was decorated with lush grasses, trees, shrubs, and majestic mansions similar to Maddie's. I had just filled Maddie in on what happened yesterday and was waiting for her reply. Maddie was a counsellor among our circle of friends, she had a strange, mature wisdom-filled mind that I believed had probably come from the many books she was always engrossed in. “So what are you going to do?” She asked. I shrugged, sitting on the white, soft armchair beside her king-size bed. “Nothing just live life I guess”. “Jovita you can't live without your mate, you have to be in unison with him”. “I was living very well without him from what I recall, besides I only got to know he was my mate yesterday”. “You should at least ask him what he meant, since you didn't understand the accusations, clearly there's
Jayden’s POV “What the heck do you think you're doing Jayden?” My inner voice questioned, as I ran through the forest with Jovita. I couldn't give myself a reasonable explanation for what I had just done. How do I explain the impromptu appearance? I had been thinking about Jovita all day, and suddenly I was in her friend’s room whisking her out without a second thought. I was still wondering how she managed to find her way out of my house earlier today. And for a strange reason I couldn't fathom, I craved her presence. “You missed her,” my inner voice teased. I shook my head. I didn't miss her. Why would I miss her? She was my mate, yes. I found her attractive, but I had no feelings for her, not yet, not one that I was ready to admit. The cold wind blew past us as I ran, I had reduced my pace to prevent her from catching a cold, but I could still feel her body shivering against my arm. She looked pale and innocent, with a confused look on her beautiful, heart-shaped face. I felt
Jovita’s POV Jayden looked up, spinning around, and using his well-built body to shield my small frame. I stood frozen. I was still trying to understand what was going on. Just a moment ago Jayden had been about to kiss me. I could say we kissed, though brushing of lips barely counted as a kiss, according to my and my besties’ rule. I could feel my cheeks still burning red. Was I just about to have my first kiss? My mind flashed to the present. We had an unwanted company. The guest had called my name, and for some reason, his voice sounded familiar. Was it Uriel? I wondered, my pulse quickening. “Show yourself” Jayden said in his deep, resonant voice. Slowly, Seth stepped out from behind the tree. I heard a low growl erupt from Jayden, and I flinched. He must already be aware of my relationship with Seth. I noticed he shifted his weight to shield me more. “Seth? I didn't know you were coming around today”, Jayden said, dryly. I knew he was pissed about Seth's interruption. I c
Jayden's POV I charged at Seth, my only thoughts were to protect my mate. I knew Seth had no plans of hurting any of us, but when a werewolf was angry, he was unpredictable. Right now, he could kill me if he had a chance. I knew because I could hear his every thought. “Calm down Jayden, please don't do something you'd regret”, Eric said in my head. He was communicating to me through his thoughts. He must know Eric and I were about to fight. I had no intention of hurting Seth, but I had no intention of doing nothing either, if he attacked then I would have to defend. “Seth is brother Jayden, please”, Eric begged desperately. I could hear his heart beating wildly, he was probably running to where we were. He had gone out with Betty, his mate, and I felt a little bit bad for cutting short time together time. Seth took a step forward, his lips curving back to show his long, razor-sharp canines, he was planning his attack carefully since he knew I was much faster and stronger than he w
Jovita's POV I stared around the room filled with young adults, my eyes searching for my best friends. One of the white brothers, Conan was throwing a party at his parent's vacation mansion, a few minutes from Jayden’s house. The party was filled with the most popular werewolves in Torin, and I was pretty surprised when I got an invitation. In the past, I usually just tagged along with Maddie and Anne, as no one ever invited me. “It was probably because of Jayden I got an invitation”, I had told my besties, tossing the card on my old bedside table. They had come over to stay with me for the weekend. We came together for the party, but I had excused myself to use the restroom, and now they were gone. I avoided the crowd of scarcely dressed females and overly dressed males, as I continued my search. I saw many heads turn in my direction. Yeah, I was beautiful, but I had never drawn heads until I started hanging out with Jayden. It was bringing in more attention than I wanted. “Oh sh
Jayden's POV I caught the scent of my mate as I hugged Jade, giving her a peck on her forehead, but when I turned, she was nowhere in sight. Apologizing to Jade, I went in search of her. I followed her scent to the lady's restroom but stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. I saw a group of girls giggling, and staring at me, my presence must have painted a funny picture. “Jovita”, I called but got no reply. I tried again, but still no reply. I decided she wasn't in there and headed out of the house to continue my search, maybe she had gone home. I decided to trace my way to her house to see if I could find her. I had run only a few distance when I picked up her scent again. She was sitting on one of the benches the beach provided, a few meters from my home. I approached her slowly unsure of what to say or do. We hadn't spoken in weeks, and I felt awkward. She turned to stare at me, when I got close enough, but turned back as if she hadn't seen me, I noticed there were tea
Jovita's POV “Oh my gawd, Jayden had just been ravishingly kissing me a few minutes ago”, I felt my cheeks still burning red. I stared down at our hands tightly entwined, and a smile crept to my lips. Suddenly, I noticed his body tense, and I followed his gaze focused on something, his eyes narrowed, and concentrated. “A cold one is here”, I heard in my head. My body stilled. I recognized that voice. It was Jayden's voice, more like Jayden's thoughts. I stared at him to make sure I wasn't imagining things. “Eric, Seth, Phil, Conan, gather around, a cold one is here, and I think he not just any cold one”. I heard it again, I could hear Jayden's thoughts. “Oh my god”, I yelled in my head, excitedly. He turned to look at me, his eyes narrowing, and a slow smile spread on his face. “The bond is getting stronger”, he said, drawing me into his arms, and planting a deep, brief, caring kiss on my lips. “I have to gather the others, stay with the rest of the party guests, be safe mate
Jayden’s POV I groaned in pain as the vampire ran with me, describing his movement as running would be an underestimation, he was flying. I yelped when he stopped suddenly and slammed me into a tree. “Let's see what you've got”, he said, his hands behind him, waiting for me to get up. I rose to my feet, my body in pain. I close my eyes, trying to self-heal. It was excruciating. When I had managed to stop my bleeding, I opened my eyes to stare at my opponent, calculating. He was probably ten times stronger and faster than me, and I had to plan my movement carefully or end up getting killed. “I see you're an instinctive fighter”, he said, giggling. How about we make this fairer?” He made a swirling motion with his hands, and a portal opened. I gasped, I didn't know cold ones could have such powers. Who the hell was this guy? He looked exactly like the guy who had attacked Jovita, but I could tell he wasn't the same guy. He smelt different, moved differently, and acted differently.
