Episode 55

She hesitated for a while, then nodded reluctantly. She handed me the papers that she claimed were DNA test results. I glanced at them and saw they had his name and the baby’s name on them.

“Are you sure these are authentic?” I asked her, feeling a surge of anger and disbelief.

“Of course they are. Why would I lie to you?” she said, trying to sound innocent.

“Because you are a home wrecker who wants to ruin my marriage,” I snapped back.

She flinched and looked away. I could see the guilt in her eyes, but also the defiance.

I walked up to my room and found a DNA test kit I had bought long ago. I had planned to use it for fun, to see how much we matched as a couple. But now, it was a matter of life and death.

I walked back to the living room with it and got swabs from the side of her cheek, the child’s cheek and my husband’s cheek.

“Done. I will get back to you next week but in the meantime, please leave,” I said coldly, handing her back the papers and the baby.
