#Chapter10"When will she wake up?" I heard Rhydian whisper. I blinked my eyes a few times then glanced around the room. I was in an office, laid on a sofa."I don't know." Lucas whispered, sighing. I pulled myself up, slowly. I looked down at my clothes, my blood splattered clothes. I gasped and stood up.Rhydian and Lucas spun around to face me as I pulled off the hoodie. "Goddess Amaris!" Lucas shrieked. I pulled my sweatpants down and stepped out of them.I glanced up at them. Rhydian's eyes were wide, his tongue practically hanging out. Lucas had his hands covering his eyes. "I had to get out of those clothes." I said, shivering in disgust."Rhydian, give her your shirt or something, man." Lucas whined. I shook my head at Rhydian, "I don't want your shirt." He pulled his shirt over his head, "Well, you need to wear something." He rolled his eyes, throwing his shirt at me.I caught his shirt then pulled it over my head. It fell midway on my thighs.I had to fight against the
#Chapter11"Yo... you." I spluttered, again."Well, if this isn't a nice surprise... sis." He smirked."You're a wolf?" I gaped.Out of everyone I expected to walk out from the trees... Ezra wasn't one of them."And you are one too." He rolled his eyes, "I didn't sense your wolf. I still don't." He added."I didn't sense yours either." I countered. He chuckled, "Touche."He leaned against a tree and folded his arms. "So, you said you knew me because of my last name? Why did you look so shocked to see me in wolf form?" I asked, puzzled. He chuckled again, "We went to the same school." He looked down, "I haven't been around much. I've come back for the funeral." He said, slowly.I took a deep breath, " The funeral... it's my fathers." I whispered."You're that Amaris." He stated. "I'm so sorry about you-" I cut him off... "Please don't say you're sorry about my loss. That's all I've heard." I rolled my eyes."Ok, I won't." He quickly said, holding his hands up in defence. "So,
#Chapter12I spent the evening yesterday with Lucas and Elijah and it was the best couple of hours I have had in a while. Elijah and Lucas are total opposites, Lucas is always on edge and wants things done here and now unlike Elijah, he's so laid back and has a wicked sense of humour. Their wedding photos were absolutely stunning, Lucas looked so happy. I'm gutted I missed it. I stretched out in bed and groaned. Tristan and Georgie did an amazing job of my bedroom, they replaced pretty much everything. I rolled over and grabbed my phone from the side table. I unlocked it then promptly screwed my eyes shut as the light blinded me. I let my eyes adjust before I looked properly at it. There was a text from Ria and Lucas. I opened Ria's first...Ria Roo xo - Do you want to have a pamper day ready for tomorrow? xxMe - Um, yeah that'll be... nice. XxRia Roo xo - Well get ready. I'll be at yours soon or we can meet at the packhouse xxMe - Packhouse, 1 hour. See you soon
#Chapter13"Why can I bring you back from whatever happens to you?" He questioned. My eyes went wide and I froze. Does he not know what a mate bond does?! I'm so confused. Maybe I should reveal myself, just take my necklace off and let him sense me. 'Not yet. Find out what he was talking to Lucas about.' Aurora suggested. That is a good idea, not one I was expecting, especially from my wolf who was ready to give Rhydian the benefit of the doubt. "I don't know what you mean," I replied nonchalantly, with my eyes fixed on the wall opposite us. "No one else could get through to you." He exclaimed. "What happens to you? Why do you go all... dark?" He faltered. I sighed and reluctantly rested my head against his chest. I felt him stiffen but quickly relax. "Didn't my dad tell you?" I whispered. I thought he would have done, especially when he gave the Alpha position to him. "No. All your dad said was you were different." He explained, "But that could have meant anything." "I d
#Chapter14I paused in front of the hospital and took a deep breath. I really need to go in there and find out how Elijah is and apologise for hurting him. I hung my head down and let a stray tear fall. I don't know how I'm going to do this without losing it. Keeping calm helps keep everything at bay, but I'm not going to be able to stay calm with this guilt eating at me. 'Use Rhydian as an anchor.' Aurora whispered. 'An anchor?' I puzzled. 'Use the mate bond to your advantage. Fake or not.' She stated. I sighed, knowing she was right. I glanced up and Rhydian, who was stood beside me, eyeing me intensely. His lips turned up into a small smile. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Come on, Amaris. This is the only way you're going to be able to go in there. I opened my eyes, slowly. He was watching me, staring. "I need you to do me a favour." I groaned. He raised one brow at me, waiting for me to continue. "Look, I'm not sure why you calm me but I need you to do it no
#Chapter15I heard Rhydian call after me but I had already made it to the stairs. I ran down the stairs and headed straight out of the hospital. I headed straight for the forest. I needed to be away from everyone, that way I can't hurt anyone. I don't trust myself anymore. I have never hurt anyone close before. I could feel my mindlink been poked at, it was either Tristan, Rhydian or Lucas. I haven't mind linked anyone else. I can start the mindlink and then they can contact me through that as they wish. There's no way of severing it either, I don't think. Not like when you are part of a pack. Just cutting all ties with the pack, cuts the line of communication. I reached the outskirts of the forest, once I was clear of buildings and people. I needed to shift, my wolf form is faster. 'You ready?'She didn't answer, I know she'll be hurting too. But it didn't stop the need to be out and free. I ran further into the forest then skidded to a stop in the middle of a clearing and scr
#Chapter16At some point in the night we shifted. So I'm no longer feeling the warmth of being locked inside my wolf. My teeth were chattering together, I pulled my knees up to my chest and tried to get warm.'Maybe we should go back.' Aurora whined.'No, they aren't safe.' I whimpered.'You're going to get ill, Amaris.' She scolded.I yawned and sat up. A branch snapped in the distance and I froze. Since I have no idea where I am, it could be anyone.I slowly and quietly tiptoed out of the cave. I scanned the area but couldn't see anyone. Since I still have my necklace, no one can sense me. I sniffed the air and caught a very familar scent.I froze, not knowing what to do. I can't let him see me. I stepped back towards the cave, I'll be safe in there. I spun around and listened for any movement. I edged towards the cave, when I heard a voice I haven't heard in 4 years..."Amaris, is that you?" The man spoke, knocking the wind out of me. I didn't turn around, I stayed rooted to
#Chapter17I flickered my eyes open, squinting from the bright lights. My vision was still a little blurry. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and tried focusing on my senses. I opened my eyes slowly and scanned the room. I was in the medical centre I think.I slowly sat up, a burning sensation spread across my abdomen and I fell back with a grunt. I glanced down, lifting my t-shirt up. My stomach was wrapped up in a bandage. I stared at the bandage trying to figure at what happened and why I was laid in this bed.'We were attacked remember.' It all came flooding back. Noah turning up, finding out they were going to try again, being attacked by the wolves... I gasped when I realised I had taken my necklace off. Rhydian will know, I started panicking and gasping for air. 'But now we know he's our true mate, there's nothing to be afraid of.' Aurora purred. 'But what if it's all a joke? What if I'm been tricked somehow?' I whimpered. There was a knock at the door, I held my
