The following morning, Michael and I reconciled, and we decided to have a whole family breakfast together with our children before they headed for school. “I told you they fought,” Carmela murmured as took a bite out of her toast.

I pretended like I didn’t hear her and continued with the breakfast, I was doing so much to impress her but she was bent on not accepting anything that I did.

“Leo…” I called my precious baby who was reading his book on the table, “Please can you drop the book, you can do it after, I won’t bat an eye if you were to fail one subject, you are not a thing that I should brag to my friends about, you are my son and I wouldn’t mind if you enjoy life like every other children your age, you only have the teenage life once,” I said referencing the statement my beloved daughter made last night.

Carmela scrunched her nose as she tried to mimic silently.

“I will be heading somewhere, would you like me to drop you off at school?” I asked.
