Chapter 86: Alone

Dinner was insipid for Sophia that Saturday evening after Matthew had left her.

She could feel a sharp knife slicing her throat as she took a spoon of the cobb salad and masticated it reluctantly in her mouth until it formed a bolus ready to be digested but she suddenly regurgitated and emitted everything out.
