Tenth Run

"Alright, Liam, buckle up!" Liam's eyes widened when the car they took on the road suddenly pulled up.

"What the--"

Brandon laughed softly. "Don't worry, I won't crash it. Also, I don't mean to hurt you."

Liam turned to what Brandon said because he didn't hear it very well. "Huh?"

"I said we need to hurry. We're going to try and make it to the gas station. We know that the store at the station may still have items," Brandon said, his hands gripping the steering wheel with determination.

Laim just shook his head. "Just food? I doubt that. The ones at the convenience store where I worked were looted by some people. If I hadn't locked the door to the room, they would have entered it for sure."

Liam didn't notice that Brandon's eyes suddenly darkened, and his grip on the steering wheel tightened even more. "You're wise; that's why you locked it up. Did the food we ate come from there?"

Liam nodded slowly. "Yeah," he answered.

When they saw some mindless creatures again, Liam couldn't help
