Nova POV

I feel terrible lying to Matt. I’m actually surprised by how much it eats at my conscience. Stupid mate bond. Luca had just warned me that Matt had been asking questions and suggested we tell him about the wolf training.

I had to beg Luca not to say anything. It’s embarrassing, and Matt and I are only just starting to get on. I can only imagine what he’d think if he knew I had no control over my wolf. Thinking back to our conversation on the hill before the dry humping started, I realise a lot of the resentment he had for me must of been aimed at his mum. He said she was cold and unaffectionate. Is that what he thinks of me? I know we can’t be together not really, not with my job but maybe we could just pretend for awhile? Just for my time here.

My phone pings and I pull it out of my pocket and tear my eyes away from the wall id been staring at for the last 10 minutes in my room. The screen flashes
