Isabella’s P.O.V.

I suffered from intense hunger during the night. I wasn’t able to sleep until I satisfied the gnawing emptiness within. So I left the room bare foot and came to the kitchen. Looking around, I opened the fridge, to eat quickly and return unnoticed. My eyes went to the bowl full of custard. Hurriedly, I cleaned a spoon and left it on the countertop before rushing back to the fridge. I was afraid that someone might catch me. I didn't want Alexander to know about my recovery. What if he finds out that I was fine and he took me to his room? No I don’t want his closeness again.

Grabbing a bowl of custard, I was just about to close the fridge door when I noticed someone’s presence behind me.
