ONE DAY BEFORE
Delilah paced back and forth in her room, anxiously thinking about her fate. Delilah had bad feelings after coming home from the chapel and talking to Father Alberto. The story got her to rethink about staying with James. Therefore, she rummaged through all the drawers to find her passport. And somehow, because James was in a hurry, he forgot to put it in the safe.
When Delilah found it, she instantly grabbed it. Now, she must find a way to buy tickets and escape from New York.
Delilah had no money at all to buy tickets. During this time, James got her everything and left without a penny. She barely had money on hers recently.
"What should I do?" she muttered in deep thought. Delilah was determined to leave the Penthouse to pick up her brother Oliver and flee somewhere else. She couldn't trust James anymore. James has broken his promise a few times before. Would he possibly do it again? However, James has nothing left to gain trust from Del
There is no voice that James Belgenza hates more than the evil laughs of Gabriel Moretti, his eternal enemy. James abruptly clenched his jaw and fist at the way Gabriel called him. James was getting rage and could kill anyone right now. Grey noticed James' anger and tense expression when he received the call from Lordes. What happened? Something happened, but he could not hear anything since James was the one who took the call."What do you want, Moretti!" growled James with his eyes blazing with anger. Gabriel chortled loudly and kept mocking James."You shouldn't have to come to New York to chase after me, bastard kid! You can call, and I'll be there whenever you want," Moretti replied harshly."Coward… you only dared to attack me because I wasn't there! Why don't you come to face me now, and we'll sort it all out!" quipped James ragingly."Hahaha... oh, who do you think you are, hah! Look, J. I came to your house because I heard you keep a beaut
19.15 CET, NAPLESA taxi pulled up in front of the gates of the Belgenza mansion, and Delilah rushed out in a hurry. After she paid for the cab, Delilah immediately ran towards the fence. The guard who recognized her opened the door for her."Thank You!" said Delilah and directly ran through the way to the mansion. The guard who opened the door furrowed his brows and glanced at his companions, who were also on guard. Shouldn't Delilah be with their Master by now? Why did she come back alone?Delilah ran from the front gate through the central garden of the parking lobby near the stone steps and fountain. She only stopped for a moment to take a breath and reran a slight uphill to go up to the mansion's main entrance—several guards who later saw her approach."Miss...!" called one of them and came over. Delilah instantly put on a smiling face as if nothing had happened."Are you just coming back? Are you alone?" asked one of the guards.
It feels like time is a difficult moment right now. James kept his hands to his nose and counted the seconds he passed anxiously, but also nervous and scared. Well, fear was something James had never experienced in his life.Men like James have no idea what it feels like to have such a feeling. But now, it was starting to dominate his mind, although he didn't do anything."Sir… you'd better eat something. You haven't eaten anything yet," said Grey worriedly while staring at restless James. James then shook and rubbed his forehead."Grey... I'm scared of losing Delilah," James muttered to Grey. His breath hitched, and he lowered his head. Grey didn't reply anything other than just watching his anxiety. At the same time, Grey also felt the same way. He was afraid that Delilah would get hurt because of Moretti. There is currently no one that he can contact at the Belgenza mansion. They both felt uncomfortable, adding to the tense surroundings on the p
"Oww… leave me alone, Oliver!" Delilah adorably pushed her brother's hand when Oliver tapped a pencil on Delilah's head. She was playing with her shabby doll on the floor back in their small house in a town named Crawford. Oliver only chuckled at her but kept teasing her because she was the only sibling."Hey, don't bug your little sister, Oliver," their grandmother scolded in a soft voice. Nancy Starley was serving food to her very young granddaughter. Seven-year-old Oliver and four-year-old Delilah."What did you cook, Nana?" asked little Delilah pulling up her grandmother’s apron. Her Grandmother, Nancy, smiled and lowered her head slightly."Today, I earned a bit more money for us. So we're going to have some delicious Spaghetti and pasta.""Hooray!" Oliver and Delilah shrieked in happiness. They were jumping together beside a small dining table. They shouted with joy because their grandmother served their favorite food."Now, let'
"GET OUT OF HERE!" Fratti yelled to some of the Il Rosso fellows. Unfortunately, most of them did not have time to escape the explosion. The bomb exploded and tossed Fratti into the fountain in front of the mansion due to the strong impact. Meanwhile, Gabriel Moretti had his chance to run and jump before he hurt. He has to hide behind a giant statue in front of the building."Huh... you damn scumbag! When did he plant a bomb in that house!" BHAAMM... the explosion sounded wholly and again destroyed the entire Belgenza mansion. Moretti looked back to see the house down into pieces. It was supposed to be his property now. But it had been demolished and burned.Fratti, who suffered burns to his legs, dragged his body towards Moretti."We have to go now. Before this place is filled with the cops!" shouted Fratti. Gabriel was so aggravated and mad. He then pulled Fratti without saying anything to leave their hiding site. James managed to kill most of the Il Rosso gan
Delilah sat on the sofa while staring blankly at the balcony in front of her room. The breeze before noon caressed Delilah's hair. Delilah clasped her two fingers which were still shaking occasionally. Delilah could never forget Oliver's last reflection and smile. At his last moment, Oliver had said that he loved Delilah. It was the most affectionate moment with her brother and tore her heart. At the end of the time, Delilah has to witness the cruelness of Oliver's death. Didn't he deserve it? No. Not for Delilah. That affection radiated sincerely from Oliver's eyes as they parted for good. Delilah couldn't stand to reminiscence and ended up crying again. She covered her face with two palms and sobbed."Candy," James called, gently caressing Delilah's shoulder and sitting next to her. Delilah kept sobbing, thus allowing James to hold her in his arms tightly. James didn't say anything but cuddled and gently stroked her shoulder. His lips occasionally kissed Delilah's ti
An Audi stopped slowly near Hoston Park, east of the Ritz apartment in Manhattan. Only a few people were crossing the road in front of the park. The rest are just garden lights, and the condition of the park is tranquil; no one is there. It was dim and a bit creepy.Grey braked the car slowly and kept his eyes on the surroundings. Meanwhile, it clicked the sound of James' revolver magazine had put on, as he cocked it. His eyes were also skimming across the garden."There's the chapel, sir," pointed Grey while taking his gun along with him."Get ready, Grey. We never knew they could have some snipers here!" Grey nodded understandingly and came out of the car with James. James didn't even change his pajamas yet. He only wore shoes so he wouldn't get cold.James then coded by nodding to Grey, who detoured while walking through the dark side of the chapel. There was a slight sound of an owl nesting in one of the big trees. It watched James walk across the path to get to the church. He con
"Delilah is not a toy! I will never toss her away," answered James firmly."If she's not a toy, then what is she for you?""She is my lover!" James unhesitantly replied to him. Alberto smiled and lowered his head slightly."Is that also the name you gave to your mistresses before her? Then what happens if one day you meet the woman who is supposed to be your wife by destiny? Are you going to toss her out?" James was stunned and froze at his place. He had never thought that far."Delilah is an innocent girl. She may hate you now, but when she falls for a man like you, and you start to get bored of her innocence, you will throw her off like trash. She will be very hurt. Let her go before all that happens," added Alberto, still looking at James expectantly. James hardened his jaw. He did not want to compromise to the disguise matter of an uncertain future."Stay away from Delilah and me! Do not try to convey her on your sickness trap of lies!" threate
