After going for a run with her best friends for a couple of minutes. They went to Claire's house and helped her pack, Claire was sad at the fact that all her belongings only contained two suitcases. She never really had anything to call hers, except her clothes.
While her best friends were in the room, Claire sneakily walked into her small bathroom and opened the cupboard. She took out a big book and all the accessories she's been keeping for years. She went back to her room, Ashley and Dax were so engrossed in a conversation that they didn't see her as she discreetly put them inside her traveling bag. She felt bad for hiding such a thing from her friends but she didn't have a choice. How could she possibly explain it to them?
After a few more minutes, they were done. “You know what you have to do next, right?” Ashley asked with a grin.
I groaned. “Yes I know. I need to go ask for the Alpha's permission to leave the pack.” Claire couldn't help but dread the upcoming conversation. A part of her wished that Callan and Cameron would give her a little more time to break the news to her alpha, but she knew the two days they gave her was them being patient.
After they were done packing, they strolled together towards the pack house. Claire's small house was only a fifteen minutes walk to the pack house.
Claire's palm grew sweaty as they neared the pack house. She has never had to talk to the Alpha directly before. He never wanted to associate himself with rogues. Ashley reached out to Claire's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, she smiled back at her gratefully.
They got to the pack house, and the guards opened the gates immediately after seeing that it was their future Alpha. Claire knew they wouldn't have opened the gates if it were only Ashley and herself. They made their way into the Alpha's house.
Dax stopped a passing guard and asked him to go get his father. A few moments later, Alpha Darius graced them with his presence. He was a man in his early fifties, with gray hair and slightly wrinkled face. They bowed their heads in respect to their Alpha.
“What are you doing here?” Alpha Darius spat in distaste as he glared at his son. “And what are these filthy omegas doing in my pack house?” Claire and Ashley flinched at his tone, they kept their heads down and didn't dare look into their Alpha's eyes.
“Trust me father, the feeling is mutual. I would rather be anywhere else but here. But what I came here for is rather important.” Dax spoke.
“Don't you dare talk to me in that tone, boy. I am your father and Alpha, and you will acknowledge me with respect.” Alpha Darius growled, taking a step forward towards his son.
Daxton didn't even cower away from his threatening stance as he squared his shoulders and smirked at his father. “Look who is talking about respect. You have never respected any decisions I made and you're preaching to me about respect? A really bad move, might I add.” Alpha Darius' jaw ticked in anger.
Claire couldn't help but think Dax was unknowingly making matters worse for her. Alpha Darius was already in a bad mood before she could even say what she came there for. Fueling his anger will do them no good, but there was no way she could scold Dax in front of his father. Unless she had a death wish.
Alpha Darius turned to face her as he looked her up and down in disgust. “I hope you both didn't come here to beg for food. I don't have food to feed low ranked omegas like you.” Dax opened his mouth to talk back but Claire gave him a pleading look. His words struck her heart, but as usual, he was their Alpha and she couldn't do a damn thing about it.
Claire swallowed the lump in her throat as she whispered, “N-no Alpha. W-we didn't come to beg —”
“Then why the f-ck are you here? To have a f-cking tea party?” He interrupted harshly.
Claire gulped as she willed herself not to appear nervous as she spoke, “I-I came to ask for your permission to leave the pack.” She sighed in relief as she finally got that off her chest but that was short-lived.
“What?!” He all but yelled, making her take a step back in fear.
“M-my mates —”
“You think I will let you leave the pack so you could run away from your duties as an omega?! Absolutely not!” He shouted angrily, not allowing Claire to say a word.
Daxton sighed tiredly. “Dad, she's telling the truth. She met her mates yesterday and —”
“Wait… Did I just hear you say mates? Mates as in two mates?” Alpha Darius asked, staring at us in confusion.
“Yes, mates. Claire has two mates and they are both Alphas, and I suggest you let her go or you're going to face their wrath.” Daxton warned, earning a glare from his father.
Suddenly he threw his head back and laughed hysterically. They looked at him in confusion, wondering what was funny. After he calmed down from his laughing fit he spoke seriously, “You really thought this through, didn't you? Looking for an excuse to escape from the pack? Two mates? Really? That's ridiculous and impossible!”
“You don't want to hold her here, Dad. When her mates find out that you aren't letting her leave…” His words hung in the air, the hidden threat in his words were noticeable.
“Oh, please,” Alpha Darius waved his son off. “You underestimate me, son. And who are the so-called mates anyways?” He asked nonchalantly.
“Alpha Callan and Alpha Cameron. The Alpha of the Dark moon pack.” The names sent a delicious chill down Claire's body. She was shocked that their names could also have an effect on her.
Alpha Darius' eyes widened in disbelief as he felt at a loss of words. “D-dark moon? Y-you mean…” And for the first time in years, Claire heard her Alpha stutter.
“How is that possible?” He whispered to himself. “She's just a worthless little omega.” His words stung her, and she bit her lip to stop it from wobbling.
“I don't believe you.” He announced, composing himself as he turned to Claire. “I do not permit you to leave this pack. And as a punishment for lying to your Alpha, you are going to spend three days in the pack cell.”
Claire gasped in fear, he gestured to the guards and they grabbed both her arms. “No please! I'm telling the truth!” She cried out.
Tears were already falling down Ashley's face as she watched her best friend being taken away helplessly.
“You are going to regret not listening to us, Dad.” Daxton's voice lacked any trace of emotion as he glared at his heartless father.
Callan paced the study room as he ran his hand through his jet black hair. Their mate should have been here by now, and it was evening already and there was still no sign of her. His mind went frantic as different thoughts swarmed his head. Was she attacked on her way here? Did she get lost or something? He knew they should have brought her by themselves, and now he was regretting not doing so. “Calm down, will you?” Cameron said from across the room. “She will probably be here anytime soon.” Cameron tried to reassure, but Callan could still hear the worry in his tone. He was also worried about their mate. His brother rarely showed any sort of affection towards anyone but he could tell that Cameron already cared about their little mate. It's impossible not to immediately grow attached to your soul mate. “You know I can't calm down until I know she's safe. What if something happened on her way here? Fuck.” He muttered the last words under his breath. Cameron thought about the po
Pain. Anguish. Misery. Soreness. That's all Claire felt. The guards that were assigned to torture her walked out and locked the cell, leaving her all bruised and beaten. Her left eye was slightly swollen, she could tell from the soreness in it. Her clothes were torn as they stripped her of her dignity. Leaving her in only her underwear. Her back had long, deep slashes after being flogged. She lost count of how many times they whipped her after reaching thirty. Her pale skin had turned red. Her mind was numb as she curled herself into a dark corner of the cell that smelled of dried rotten blood. Her lips were trembling as tears streamed down her face, strands of her red hair blurred her vision. Her back stung as she choked on a sob. She's been locked in the cell for almost two days with little to no food. She could have easily escaped from the cell, the idea was really tempting, but she knew that was a risk she wasn't willing to take. If Alpha Darius or anyone should find out wh
Alpha Darius lay in a heap on the floor, he had been knocked unconscious. Bite marks and bruises littered his skin. Daxton walked into the cell, staring down at his father's condition. He hated his father so much but he couldn't bear seeing him in that condition. But, he knew his father deserved it, he had been violent towards his best friend and he would bear the consequences of his actions. He left there after ordering the guards to take him to the pack doctor, and he headed straight to Claire's house. They were currently in Claire's small house in their pack, Ashley was sitting on the little couch beside the window, her face was filled with dried tears. He watched as Claire's mates left her sleeping form on the bed and walked towards him, their jaw clenched. They stood firmly in front of him obviously trying to intimidate him, he wasn't scared of them per say. After all, he has alpha blood running through his veins. “I hope you are aware of the consequences of your father's acti
They were currently in front of Claire's house. Cameron had called for a driver from his pack. Claire gasped when she saw the beautiful car. She knew a little about cars and she could tell this was a brand new black Chevron suv 2022. The interiors were plush and the seats were well padded. A bulky man with a deep scowl on his face, came up to Claire and Ashley and took her bags from them. He dumped them unceremoniously in the car's trunk and went back to the driver's side. Cameron was speaking furiously on the phone, while Callan typed away on his phone. She honestly pitied anyone on the receiving end of the call. He wasn't talking to her but his voice sent shivers down her spine. Ashley slightly elbowed her and smirked knowingly, making Claire's cheeks tint pink. Claire's steps were wobbly as she walked so her mates had asked– scratch that– ordered her to sit inside the car, while they did whatever they were doing. “What do you mean he escaped?” Cameron asked calmly, his face cold
They arrived at the Dark moon pack half an hour later. Claire had woken up from her little nap, a few seconds ago. She watched the beautiful scenery as the car sped into the pack. The fields were glade-green. The sound of chirping chicks filled the air. She could see a group of kids playing around and some were curiously watching the tinted car. “Alpha, we are here.” Said the driver who she has yet to find out his name. Claire sat up straighter in her seat and allowed her eyes to wander out the window which landed on an enormous mansion. The house was ridiculously large for just two people. It was a three-storey building. The house was by trees, it was situated in a secluded part of the pack, away from everyone else. In Claire's pack their Alpha's house was next to the beta and gamma's house, but this pack was different. There were no other houses next to the Alphas house. “Do you need us to carry you in, Claire?” Claire was startled by Callan's voice. They were already out of the
Claire glanced at the clock and it said 7:06. Her eyes widened, she had slept for three hours! She wondered if it was the drugs that made her sleep that long. Her stomach growled in hunger and she realized it was time for dinner. She stood up from the comfy bed. She swayed a little but caught herself before she could fall. She walked out of the room not bothering to change her clothes. She wondered if her mates were back from where they went to. She yawned and ran her her fingers through red curls. She wandered down the hallway that her mates had led her through when they were showing her to her room. She walked down the stairs and rose a brow as an unfamiliar scent hit her nose. She followed the scent and saw a girl typing away on her phone in the living room. Who is she? As if noticing a presence behind her, she turned around and jumped to her feet. Her eyes widened as she saw Claire. “H-hi, Luna. I didn't see you there…” She trailed off as her cheeks tinted pink. “I'm Elena.”
Claire turned to her mates after Xavier and Elena left and raised a brow. “Does he always talk to her like that?” And to think she was beginning to like him… Her mates didn't even look the least bit affected by what just happened and that's what infuriated her. “It's really none of our business. And I will advise you not to interfere next time.” Cameron said curtly. She decided to leave the matter for now. She walked over to the microwave, where she kept their food and brought it out. With a smile on her face, she placed the two plates of lasagna in front of them. “Elena and I made lasagna, I thought you would be hungry so —” “I'm not hungry.” They both cut her off simultaneously. She felt hurt at their words, but tried to hide it. It was only now that she noticed their sour mood, their meeting must not have gone well then. Even Callan had a serious expression on his face. Her eyebrow pinched together in worry. “Is everything okay? What's wrong?” “Nothing you should be worried a
Claire groaned as the harsh rays of sunlight hit her face. She must have forgotten to close the curtains before going to bed. She fell asleep in the early hours of the morning and would have appreciated a little more time to sleep. The sun had another plan though, and she couldn't fall asleep anymore. She sat up on the bed and took in her surroundings. She had almost forgotten that she was now in the Dark moon pack. Claire sighed and got up from the bed and entered the bathroom. She sat on the toilet and emptied her bladder. She walked over to the faucet and stared at her reflection on the mirror. Her green eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep, her red hair looked like a bird's nest, and she had a little drool in the corner of her mouth. She ran her hands through her hair, trying to tame it. She picked up a new toothbrush from the drawer and started brushing her teeth. She rinsed her mouth with the mouthwash and washed her hands. She turned on the warm water and took off her clot
