CHAPTER 12
The house was just as I remembered it. Large, coated pastel pink with silver edges, the large fountain in the middle of the driveway with large marble stairs. I felt home sick. The driver parked the car and we got out. Roman looped his arm and I placed my arm through his. It was only pretense for my parents. We walked up to the large bronze door and knocked. Diego opened it, he was taller and muscular. He grinned once he saw me and pulled me in for a tight hug. I could hardly breathe but I hugged him back since I missed him so much.
“Sorellina, you look good” he complimented and I smiled.
“you look good too Diego” Roman cleared his throat and both of us turned to him having forgotten about his existence a few minutes ago.

I stared at the computer screen in front of me, scrolling through the content of the website. I was concentrating solely on the screen and didn’t notice Roman creeping up from behind me until he touched my shoulder. I jumped almost knocking down my glass of water. “Roman” I shrieked slapping his arm. He laughed and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before taking a seat beside me. He peered at my screen in confusion. “what’re you doing?” “searching for a job” I replied scrolling through the page. He froze for a second. “did we ever discuss anything about a job” he asked dropping the bottle of water on the table with furrowed eyebrows. “Roman” I said before falling into my chair and covering my face with my hands. “you’re not excited to see me?” he asked pulling my hands away and staring at me with a pout. I rolled out of my bed once i heard the alarm clock ring. I peered out of the window to see the sun rising in the horizon, it was pretty but my thoughts were somewhere else. Roman. i walked out of my room expeceting to find him in the kitchen but he wasn't there. I walked to his office, i spied him from the half open door talking on the phone and writing. I turned and headed down the stairs finding it necessary to give an apology and what could be better than breakfast in the office. I grabbed some waffle mix and pancake mix and began to make both of them. I added a bit of chocolate and strawberry. I served them in a plate, poured a glass of orange juice and some water before carrying the tray up the stairs to his office. Roman stood at the centre of the lobby, drawing the attention of all the employees. They seemed to be putting two and two together as they stared at him. I blushed a bloody crimson when I walked into the lobby and everyone stared. I walked past Roman and headed outside while he laughed. I entered the car and waited for him to enter too before the driver drove off. “were you embarrassed?” he asked chuckling. “no” I snapped and stared out of the window. He laughed again and I glared. We finally reached the house and I walked out without a word. I heard him following behind me with quick footsteps. I started to climb the stairs but he pulled me back and I fell hard against his chest. “I'm sorry” he murmured in a deep husky voice that sent shivers down my spine. “am I forgiven?” I pulled away from his hold and looked at him “yes” I replied. The sound of Justin Beiber filled the kitchen as I danced round mixing a bowl of pancake mix. Roman’s siblings were coming over and I thought it necessary to make a good impression on them so I decided to make breakfast and a couple of other things. I was done mixing the pancake batter when Roman came downstairs dressed like he was going to work. He looked at me in surprise for a second and I watched his eyes trail down my bare legs. I had worn only a crop top and shorts because the weather was very hot. “what’s the occasion?” he asked walking in and sitting on the counter. Kylie and Ronald came very early the next morning, I honestly wondered what reasonable advice Ronald could offer to wedding shopping. I woke up with a slight headache and that was enough indication to state that my day was not going to be good. I rolled out of my bed and headed for my bathroom to take a cold shower.
