A week later and I was disembarking a plane in an airport in North Carolina. It was beautiful, in a way, how little things had actually changed in six years.

The flight had been uneventful, thankfully. I've had the aircraft I boarded lose an engine in mid air once, and the anxiety that had filled me wasn't something I wanted to experience again. It did not help that I had a seat by the window and had a close view of the wing burning.
