Alex POV

I felt the sting of her palm for another minute as i slowly raised my hand to caress my cheek, to the spot where she had slapped me without hesitation.

It was only Lizzy's ragged breaths that echoed in the room while Nathaniel just stood there with horror in his eyes, his expression mirroring my own disbelief.

"Do you want to slap me again? Or Was that enough for you to vent out your anger?" I asked as calmly I could still staring into her eyes and noting the emotions that burned within.

"I'm not satisfied... I want to kill that woman and you too, for choosing her over me!."

"Listen here Lizzy..." I said stepping closer with my hands clenched into fist, anger seething through me at her words, "The day you even make a move to hurt my mate, I will fucking kill you."

A shocked gasp escape her mouth at my fair warning with unshed tears in her eyes, "I thought you loved me!"
