Chapter 5 – Wedding Days

The car was speeding across the freeway, getting further and further away from the city towards somewhere. In the car the driver looks annoyed with a serious face until he hits the innocent steering wheel to vent his anger. All the agendas that had been scheduled long ago fell apart with just one word of orders from superiors. Even though he feels unhappy, there is nothing he can do but act as he is told.

“Hello, dear... I'm sorry, it seems that even today I can't keep you company. Really I felt bad...” Asked Argus panic also feel very guilty.

“It's okay Argus, I told you I could take care of everything myself."July replied that she didn't take any issue at all with Argus' absence in preparation for their wedding. 

Today is their appointment with the WO. There are many arrangements that July has to make with various parties to prepare for her wedding despite wanting to make the party simple. Starting from the wedding hall, makeup and bridal fashion, WO, catering and so on.

“Really July? You okay? Right now I'm on a sudden official trip from work, I really can't resist. I'm sorry...”

“Yeah, I totally get it."

July is also an office worker so she understands the Argus situation well. July is also not the type of woman who will whine to force wedding preparations to always be together with a partner everywhere.

“Then, " Argus's tone of voice hesitated for a moment before saying, “I probably won't invite any of my acquaintances or family to our wedding. Sure! I told them the truth, but their response was exactly what I expected..."Argus swallowed nervously even though July wasn't in front of him. “Are you okay with that, honey?”

Argus did not want to invite colleagues or acquaintances and friends to his second wedding with July. It's just because it is still stuck in the legal process of divorce with Minerva, and the narrow scope of Argus's professional work so that he cannot share the good news with the people around him who make him take this path. In Argus ' work judgment, trust and image are of paramount importance.

“What can we do, we can't do anything about it anymore. I'm fine, really!"

Their relationship is not a forbidden or an affair, but why is it that no one can sincerely welcome and stand by them about this marriage. July did not even think that the path to her wedding would be strewn with thorns and wounds.

“I'll see you as soon as I get back, I'm sorry. I love you, July..."Argus said a sign that the telephone connection must be end.

“Don't push yourself. Be careful when driving! I'll be waiting for you.” July hung up. 

It is not the intention of the heart to break the call by being cold. But July had arrived in front of the cafe building, the place that became her goal. July intends to meet the only person she considers to be a friend for a long time. The owner of the cafe and the building landlord, which is often July bought coffee, her named is Kate. July came to deliver her own wedding invitation.

“Welcome.” The formal greeting of the cafe staff.

July is approaching. “Can you call the manager? We had an appointment.” Ask July to the employee behind the shop stand. 

Without much asking the employee who is very familiar with July's face as a regular customer immediately went to disappear into the inside, into a  staff room. July waited by taking a random place in a available empty seat. But it seems that July chose a place that gave a little privacy and comfort to talk alone with Kate. Then the person she was waiting for did not take long to appear before her.

“Unlike usual, why do you sound so serious about talking to me?"Kate asked as she sat down with July. “What is it? What do you want to talk about?”

“I'm going to marry, Kate."Say July without twisting a word.

“Really! With who? Oh! I'm so happy for you, July..." Kate hug July expressing joy. "Why didn't you tell me sooner, so you had a serious partner?”

“I'm sorry, but that's just how I decided to do. it all of a sudden.”

“Ahaha... Oh July, I'm not mad. It's okay as long as I can hear this happy news from you. Is he one of your aunt's arranged marriages?”

“Not at all, he's someone I've been in a relationship with for a long time. Yeah, we've known each other long enough."July avoids looking Kate in the face when talking.

“Oh yeah, who is he? Do I know him?”  Kate is very curious and enthusiastic.

July smiled warmly, amused by Kate's innocent reaction. “No, I'll meet you and him at the party. Not at the moment, sorry, and can you understand me?”

Kate does feel awkward with July's attitude that seems to cover up something, but Kate knows for sure that her best friend has her own reasons. 

“Of course July, you must have a reason. As adults, we all have our own problems, I can understand that.”

“Thanks, Kate. You always understand me best."July knows that, only Kate can understand.

“As long as everything is well July... Is there anything I can do for you? Just say it."

Kate knew there were a lot of things July had to take care of during her wedding preparations but she didn't know what to contribute for July. That's what she need now.

“No Kate, all is well. And I also came to tell you this myself."

Because Kate is such a special person to July, so she want met in person to give wedding invitations. July took out her wedding invitation card and placed it on the table. 

“Wow! Finally July, you're getting married! I'm really happy for you!” Look Kate was amazed to receive July's invitation card. 

Kate has often heard of July being forced to go on blind dates designed by her aunt and always ending in failure. She also once felt anxious about July, who never showed interest in men. But then this time a surprise invitation card appeared before her eyes, thought July deliberately wanted to surprise her.

“Oh July... You've survived and fought through all this well."

Kate couldn't pass up that heartwarming moment without giving July a big hug once more. Kate knows the history of July's relationship in the past and how July managed to come out of all the difficulties and sufferings  alone. That's Why July also feels so guilty for Kate who never shared the fact that she was back with Argus in a relationship and decided to marry him. One more person whose heart will be hurt and disappointed by July decision. July hopes that after Kate finds out the truth, she will still be on her side to understand July's decision as it is now and continue to be the biggest support in July's life. Hoping their relationship doesn't end after Kate finds out that July is back with Argus.
