Chapter 54

Katie's POV

My belly crumbled for the third time in a row. I haven't gone downstairs for Breakfast yet, which was like four or five hours ago. I don't know how to explain it because I was definitely hungry but the butterflies were way bigger. It kept me on my bed staring at the speech paper Melissa had printed out for me the other day at her office. The fold lines were bold, telling that it had been neatly kept until my anxiety needed something to feed on.

Maybe I was having cold feet, it had to be. I couldn't face Donald and Joanna, I feared they would see through me, Joanna especially. Some days I could swear that woman was a freaking witch and wouldn’t confess to it.

I found myself craving for my workplace, company, anything really that just sitting on my bed and waiting for the clock to strike 7 PM.

I couldn't do it anymore, looking at the clock every two minutes or scratching the edge of my nail with my teeth, so I picked up my phone lying somewhere on my bed and dialed the firs
