Miss Bella Aldama

The bullet hit me so hard that I fell off the cliff and rolled down the road.

A luxury car stopped and noticed me lying on the street.

They opened their car door and ran towards me.

"Help her. She has lost a lot of blood." A middle-aged man said, and they took me into his car.

Upon our arrival at the hospital, they attended to me and the bullet in my hand was removed.

And in a few hours, I was awake. I saw a lady sitting close to me.

I moved my hand to touch her. She gently raised her head and touched my hair.

"She's awake," the woman smiled and turned to the middle-aged man.

"Who are you people? And where am I?"

"We will explain everything the moment we take you home, honey." The woman explained.

After that day, they took me to their mansion and treated me like their own.

I found out I was already pregnant, but it didn't stop Mr. Aldama and his sister, Miss Esperanza, from caring for me.

It was easy to get along with them. Mr Aldama was one of the biggest and strongest men in the city. He had the best-selling wine ever. I didn't need a soothsayer to know he was no ordinary rich man… his cars are worth more than a fortune.

It's been nine months already, and I have heard nothing from Reggie. I would give birth soon, but the father of my child had left to be with his stepmother.

I walked towards Mr. Aldama's room when I heard my name in their conversation.

"I don't think now is the right time to tell her the truth."

"I don't need a perfect time, Esperanza. I'm getting old and need someone to run the company." Mr. Aldama said.

"A necklace doesn't mean Maya is your daughter. Remember your health condition. I don't want you to get your hopes up and then get disappointed."

"Well, the DNA results are out, and it shows positive. Maya has the Aldama's blood. She's the daughter I lost sixteen years ago." He showed her the results.

"My time on earth is numbered…I could die anytime. I don't wanna deprive my daughter of the right to be an Aldama… I lost her when she was four years old… I was never opportune to be this close to my only child."

I couldn't breathe. My heart was pounding like it would explode. I got close and opened the door.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I saw the man who said he was my father. Now I understand why my foster grandparents never allowed me to take my necklace off.

It turns out he had sent the Aldama team and tons of investigators to look for me.

However, it was like I disappeared from the world.

I had been missing for the past sixteen years and he never stopped the search for his child, which was me.

When the investigator finally found me.

Mr. Aldama was told that I was captured and was in danger. On hearing the news he got into his car and quickly went to the address where I was. Which was why he was able to see and rescue me after that witch, Angelica, had shot me.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my waist. My water broke and I was taken to the hospital.

It was about two days and I was yet to deliver my child.

I haven't seen my father as I was told he wasn't feeling too good due to the news he got that I wouldn't make it because my pregnancy was a delicate one.

While I tried to push my child out, my father was fighting for his life. I kept cursing Reggie for putting someone I didn't know in my stomach. Only for him to abandon and elope with that witch called Angelica.

It was evening when I finally delivered my baby, and that was when I saw Aunt Esperanza, whose eyes were really puffy.

She held my child as she tried to smile.

"Where's Mr Aldama?" I managed to ask.

I was too weak to say a word.

She swallowed the lump in her throat as she tried to talk.

"He's resting, don't you think it's time you call him father?"

"Am not used to it… it still sounds like a dream. But I wanna see him, please, we have a lot of catching up to do."

A nurse brought a wheelchair and I was taken to his room.

I got in and saw him lying on the bed.

His face was so pale, and his voice? He sounded so weak, I could tell, due to the way he spoke so slowly. I saw Aunt Esperanza wiping her tears as a man walked in. He wore a suit and held a briefcase.

"Good day Miss Aldama, I am Attorney Henry." He greeted me politely.

I answered and rolled my wheelchair close to Mr Aldama, my father.

"D-dad?" I slowly touched his hands as I stared into his eyes.

He tried to get up but was stopped by the nurse.

"I wish I could hug you right now… my daughter. I have looked for you everywhere. Ever since the plane crash, where I lost your mother…" He explained slowly and calmly.

"Here's Attorney Henry, he brought a few documents for both of us to sign." My father said and was given him a pen.

I couldn't read the content but I'm sure my father would not harm me. He was done signing the documents, and now it was my turn. I was about to sign the 3rd document when I saw the pen my father held rolling on the floor.

I turned to look at him and saw his eyes were closed.

Aunt Esperanza told the nurse to take me outside but I refused.

"Don't touch me, what's wrong with my father?" My heart kept beating fast as I touched and called his name, but there was no response.

Nurses and doctors trooped in to attend to him but I suddenly heard.

"Time of death, 10:56." And then the doctor covered his body.

~~~~~~
A few days after the death of my father, Aunt Esperanza took me and my best friend, Alexia, to the airport. Alexia held my daughter, Christa, as we all got on the plane.
We went out of the country for five years.
And I kept reminding myself about my revenge against Reggie and his lover, Angelica. I never forgot the things my aunt said before we left.
"You're no ordinary woman now, Maya. Like I said, your father willed his whole assets to his only child, which is you… Maya. All this, the mansions, villas, cars, Islands, hotels, casinos, estates, beaches, companies, lands, different private jets. Name them, it's all in your name."
*FIVE YEARS LATER*
Alexia and my daughter were in a blue Lamborghini, while I was in a black Maybach, right behind them.
I sat calmly with so much elegance. I felt more like the president's wife as I fixed my eyes on my phone. I had a light makeup on, my nails were neatly done and my long black hair that used to be curly was now a blonde and silky hair.
My short dress was from a popular designer in Paris while my bag was from JK collections. I didn't just add weight, my hips had become perfectly obvious while my heels complimented my slender legs.
I looked more like the lady I have always wanted to be… I could remember when I wished to be like Angelica because of her high-class clothes and how sophisticated she looked. But now? Traveling to different countries has become a routine. Now? I slay, walk, eat, ride, travel, and talk like an Aldama. She doesn't even come close to the tip of my toes.
I stared outside as I reminded myself of my revenge against the Smiths.
The drivers drove us into the villa. I sat at the back seat and even with my sunglasses on, I was able to see Aunt Esperanza and a few of my workers waiting for us to arrive.
Bruno, my bodyguard, opened my car door. And I majestically got down. But this time, I didn't come as the poor, uneducated, and timid Maya. But instead, I came out as Miss Bella Aldama.
