17. Goodbye

Beatrice woke up because of the noise inside her room. When she opened her eyes, she saw three women wearing a maid's uniform fixing things. She frowned at them.

“What are you doing?” she asked. Just like that, the maids stopped moving and looked at her. They went to the end of the bed and bowed to her.

“We are sorry, madam, if we woke you up. The master wanted to fix your things so you can go home now,” the woman in the center said.

“Who?”

“Your husband, madam.”

Beatrice was stunned for a second. It took her a while before she realized that she had just been married last night. She sighed and laid back again.

'Right. I have married him already.'

“We will prepare your breakfast first, madam.”

Beatrice did not answer. She put her left hand up and stared at the gold ring she was wearing. It was a simple shiny gold ring only. But that symbolizes her being imprisoned in a situation she never wanted.

“Madam. Here’s your breakfast. You can eat in your bed while we fix your things.”
