"Landon, let’s talk to the princesses that I have invited," mother said easily as she touched me by the arm.

I slowly retracted my hands from hers. This was not how I wished the night to go. Looking around frantically for Daisy, I noted that she was engaged in some hot words with one of the princess, who I couldn’t care less about her name. I knew she was about to cry, but she was trying to be strong. It was a trait that I admired, but I wish she would just drop it.

"Landon," mother whined once more.

I turned my gaze to her, my eyes as cold as ice. "You shouldn’t have done this," I blurted out.

She gave me a look. "What are you talking about dear?"

I moved closer to her, not caring who heard what at the moment. "You broke my relationship with Daisy in the most disgusting way. Why? Tell me why you did it?"
