I chuckle and carefully raise myself into a sitting position, before standing and showing him where the bathroom is. Waking up in his arms was a surprise, but only because I felt comfortable there. That is what shocked me the most, never have I felt comfortable to be touched or held by any man, but somehow with Grant it is different. As though he senses my presence, he glances up from his phone but then his gaze locks onto me and he freezes in place. Breathe, just breathe, give him a moment to process, don’t panic. I repeat my mantra in my head as I stand in place watching his reactions to seeing me out of my baggy clothing. “Angel?” “Yes Grant?” “Are you trying to torture me?” “Um, no?” “Mmmmmm, come here baby.” His groan makes my blood warm, and I slowly walk closer to him as he watches me, similar to how a predator will watch its prey. I can hear fear creeping into her voice as she whispers down the line. I worry about her. It triggers my need to know what has happened to her in her past to make her so afraid to have contact with anyone. “Okay, well first thing is first, do not, under any circumstances hang up this call, understood.” “Uh huh, what if I should need to make a call?” “Tell me and I will have Ellis make it for you.” “Okay, what is two?” “Use the peephole to see who it is. Do not open the door unless you are sure that the person has no ill intent.” “Okay I am going over, don’t talk.” I hold my breath as I listen to her taking soft steps towards the door. “Angela!” A muffled shout comes across the line which I assume came from whoever is the other side of her door. Clearly, it’s a male and he knows her personally, from the use of her full name, but I hear her take a sharp intake of breathe. “Oh no!”

He leaves me alone to settle in and I take a moment to look around the room. It is cozy but reeks of wealth, he has a large queen size four poster bed, with grey, Egyptian cotton linen bedding. His walls are also grey, but in contrasting shades, making it both light and warm. It’s an odd effect but it works, especially when paired with the warm mahogany colour of the furniture. The bed and dressing table, as well as an ottoman at the foot of the bed, are a matching set. I don’t see a wardrobe, but there are three doors in the room. One is the door we entered through, so I wonder if the other two could lead to an ensuite and a walk-in closet. I watch as she removes her makeup and I wonder why this is important. I am distracted by her motions as she gradually reveals her natural beauty, and I am enraptured by her. Then she turns around and tucks her fringe to the side revealing her entire face to me. She is absolutely beautiful, her pale skin is blemish free, despite her heavy use of foundation, and she has signs of sleep deprivation around her eyes. At first that is all I can see which is concerning to me, but then the light catches something and I realise the truth. I am shocked by what I see, she has multiple small nicks in her skin, that start with a small crescent below her eye and continue down the side of her face. But then I see the large one that extends down her throat, and I feel angry when I think about how this could have happened. “Terry did it.” Those words trigger and intense rage to build within me, directed at the man who had the audacity, to claim her as his daughter. I gape at her in shock, does she really think that I would abandon her just because of this? But as I gaze upon her and the way she holds herself, I realise, that that is exactly what she thinks. I reach for her wrist and tug her to me, making her gasp in surprise, as I catch her. I move both of my hands to her face, as I pull her to me and kiss her before she can regain her bearings. I moan as I taste her, I’ve missed this, since Saturday, all I had been able to think about till that phone call, was her lips and when I would be able to kiss them again. She leans into me and kisses me back, so I move her arms around my neck and my own hands stroke down along her sides, until I reach her waist. I reach down and grip her ass making her gasp, which allows my tongue access to her mouth, as I lift her and make her straddle my lap the same way she did earlier. The moment his fingers connect to my skin I feel tingles erupt from the connection and they spread wherever he moves, tracing the lines from my tattoo. I shudder as I think about the things he is hinting, and a sense of anticipation and apprehension begins to build within me. Normally I would pull away to create some distance, but I surprise myself by relaxing more into his hold. We continue talking learning more about each other as the evening draws on, at some point Lobo came to join us and is settled on the floor against Grant’s feet. I learn that his wife was his first long term relationship and that in his late teens and early twenties he was like any other male. Dating and sleeping with different girls until his family forced him to settle down and marry once he took over the family business. He has been successful in maintaining the company his father built but five years ago he decided to start his own company that is now generating more income than the other ever has.
