Chapter 3 Contract

Fabian Pov...

I feel light-headed today. Usually, I'm in a dipshit coming to work. She helps me lighten my mood. I had a meeting today at the Jensen Group. I smiled, remembering Izzy, she is gorgeous and perfect, but why would she be number three? That punk is crazy! I would make her number one if I was his man.

Anyway, the point is we shared something in common. That's how we easily feel comfortable. It was my first time opening up to a stranger, but it did really help me overcome some of my insecurities and pain. I isolated myself for a month after that scandal. The scandal died slowly, but it will never be forgotten. The fact that I am also in business is something that bothers me. Monica will always be there. How can I easily forget it?

"Hey, buddy! So deep!" My best friend interrupted me, reminiscing about last night and the whirlwind I got dating Monica.

" Hey!" I replied, smiling. He laughed, looking at me cautiously and suspiciously. Only Mark could find the difference in everything.

"What?'" I asked, chuckling.

"The last time I saw you, you were in a deep fucking mess, but now I can see you enlightened? Did someone pull a trigger from you last night or did you catch a fish and swim with it!" He uttered doubtfully, crossing his legs and staring at me very suspiciously.

"C'mon Mark! I just had a few drinks last night." I hope he buys it.

"Just a few drinks with whom?" I chuckled at how persistent he was.

"I met a desperate woman last night. Just as desperate as I am. I didn't know we could understand each other. That's it!" I explained but he was doubtful.

"That's it! I don't think so, Fabian. Looking at how you are refreshed right now, do you think I will believe that?" He protested. Nothing passed his damn observations!

"Yeah! That's it. If you think something happened, well nothing happened. We just talk about our life and our misfortunes, cheering each other up." I clarified his suspicions.

"Well, I guess that woman can help you heal. You would not change overnight if she was not something else, Fabian." He commented, pushing his luck.

I sighed lightly thinking about what he said, but that woman had just parted with her long-time boyfriend. It's not easy to ask her out.

"What if you both sign a contract to help each other at the same time, to get even with the people who caused your pain." He suggested out of the blue.

"Can we do that?" I asked, doubtfully of him.

"Fabian, I am not just your friend but your lawyer. I can help you with that. Just ask her!" He explained.

After my meeting with the Jensen Group, I texted Izzy to meet her before lunch. I'll try my best if this thing will help us to move on in our lives. Of all the people I met, she was the only one I felt comfortable with and had no trust issues.

"Hi!" She greeted me upon arriving. I smiled, pulling the chair for her.

"I thought you would ditch me as I'm just someone!" I joked, kicking my nerves. She laughed.

"I am not a fan of ditching anybody, Fabian." She playfully replied.

"Wow! I'm really glad I got the chance to know you then." I replied cheekily. She blushed, flustered.

" Anyway, I wanted to see you to talk about something else. I know you will think I am insane, but to help us heal and get a little revenge on them maybe." I tried to explain.

"What is it then? If profitable, then I might consider it." She replied.

"Wow! A businesswoman indeed!" I exclaimed.

"I just hope I was but I'm just an ordinary employee!" She kicks in her nerve as well. Warm-up!

"What if we pretend to be a couple for four years to make it more authentic." I suggested.

" What? Are you sure? I don't even know if I can handle the consequences. I just know you are Fabian." She replied hesitantly.

" Then, we will start to know each other. Be friends!" I beamed.

" I can handle that. I don't think you are a bad person. Anyway, thank you for last night. For the first time, I got a good sleep. Look, I don't even have any wrinkles on my face anymore." She squeaked, jubilant. Maybe it was a coincidence that we had a good rest last night.

" If you don't mind, how long did you part with him?" A bit curious.

"Well, it's almost a month or more than, but the problem is I see him every day as I work as his damn pathetic secretary." She replied mockingly.

"Then let's do this. Be my girlfriend for a month and I will propose to you later. Don't worry, we will sign a contract agreement, and if you find someone under the contract I won't stop you." I desperately offered. Mark is always right, and Izzy is the right candidate.

" Oh! I'll think about that Fabian." She's still hesitant.

"Sure! When you decide yes. You will work with me as my secretary." I lifted no room for 'no'.

"Is that even possible?" She asked, surprised. I laughed.

" I make things possible, Izzy. I am Fabian Montero." I boosted. She mouthed 'ow' in surprise.

" I should have known. You are the dangerous CEO!" She left me stunned. Is that even a curse or stating the fact?

"That's too much!" I replied, shaking my head.

" Then I'll try to consider your offer. If a Fabian Montero could make an impossible possible, then there's a high chance I might say yes!" She said, laughing lightly, showing her finest beauty.

"After the contract what will I gain then?" She suddenly asked.

" I can pay you. Name the price, Izzy, and I will not kick you as my secretary. You're my guest but in the whole contract we will act really as a couple who are truly in love." I assured her and enunciated carefully observing her. We will act affectionately to each other and that's beyond her imagination.

" Can you send me the contract? I'll study it first before giving you my response." She suggested. I smiled triumphantly.

"Sure, Izzy. Sure!" I replied contented and excited. We will show them we are the person they will regret playing with our innocent hearts.

I offered to buy her lunch and snacks before we parted. I couldn't contain my happiness and immediately called Mark to say that it was a bit successful.

"Hi, buddy! We have already talked about it. I just hope she will reconsider." I chimed in.

"Told ya!" He boasted triumphantly.

They say when you are broken find another person to help you mend, but that's not our case. Broken people can help each other heal, not actually finding another person to dump your frustration, because you are just adding another list of burdens. All your loads will be weighted heavily. This is the best we can do to help each other and we both have the same reasons.
