Chapter 9- Why didn't you wait for me?

“Let’s go,” Cissy dragged Athena to her car. They both descended the steps when Blanche stopped them.

“Cissy?” Blanche’s voice made Narcissa clench her fists, “Why don’t you go with Sophie today?” the question was directed to Narcissa, but her eyes were on Athena, who was standing there.

The girl was not timid; she did fight her battles alone. She eyed Blanche, too. Both were fighting with eyes, but neither said a word. Blanche’s eyes held a certain threat that Athena sensed, and Blanche had an evil smirk. Athena understood where this would go.

“I will take the bus, Cissy. I think you should go with Sophie,” she turned to Narcissa, widening Blanche’s smirk.

“Soph,” Sophie came running down, dragging Narcissa into the car without giving anyone a chance to explain. Soon, they both took off.

“Good to know that you ain’t a dumb whore, Athena,” Blanche smiled, stepping closer to Athena. She stepped back, “Getting closer to Cissy won’t get you anywhere; remember this,” Blanche’s voice h
