CHAPTER 4

JONATHAN'S POV

My lips curved in a smile as I glanced at the pretty young lady before me.

Hell, those hips were great. I wanted to tell her so, but I knew better than that. Women tend to take compliments into their heads.

With a courtesy nod, I shrugged past her and walked into the house.

I sat along with my parents after I had greeted the McGregors. The older couple looked so pleased to see me and I could understand why.

"We are so happy to see you, Jonathan. I am so sure you would love Anna." Mrs. McGregor said.

"I am sure I would." I beamed at the woman disguising my disgust.

Anna walked quietly and sat beside me at the dining table. She was all smiles, but I could feel the tremor in her.

I smiled to myself knowing why. A lot of women had the chill when they met me. I don't know why, but my friends do say I have the charm.

"Okay now, I am starving." My dad said in a bid to get the conversation moving.

Like hungry people, we dug into the large meal that was served. I helped myself to a heavy portion. While we ate, the conversation was flowing between my parents.

My mom and dad spoke to Anna's parents. They were speaking about politics and business and to be honest, I had no interest in those things. I just wished I was in a club right now having pretty vixens roll their asses on me.

I was still lost in thoughts of having a lovely night at the club when Anna tapped my leg. I glared at her in shock. I was about to spew out some expletives at her when she pointed at her father.

"Uhm, Jonathan, I was just saying that we are going to go in and discuss. Give you both more time to get to know each other." He smiled at me.

"No problem sir." I nodded understanding what was about the happen. This was the point where they hoped I would get enamored by their pretty daughter.

The chairs were dragged backward and our parents walked out of the dining area. I was left alone with Anna and the tension in the air was palpable.

Heck, I didn't know what to say and I hated that. But it wasn't like I was under any pressure to talk to her right? I was just to get married to her. That was what my mom had said.

"Ermm.. Jonathan?" Anna broke the silence.

"Hey, Anna." I finally greeted her for the first time that night.

The young lady beside me looked tensed and I didn't understand why she was so tense. This whole arrangement was going to favor her had her family. It could have been her idea. There was no way for me to know. I was only doing all of these because my mom asked me to.

Finally, she took a deep breath and faced me.

"Look, I am so sorry about the circumstances that are bringing us together. This isn't how I had envisioned the meeting. But, I think we don't have to get married." She said.

"Well, I didn't want to get married now either," I said filling my mouth with food.

"Great fine. Can you then please plead with your parents to loan my parents some funds? You are their son and they would listen to you. And if they don't, you can lend it to us. You are a rich billionaire right?" She suggested with so much hope in her eyes.

I chuckled lightly and pushed the meal away for a second. Who or what did this lady think she was? No one, not even a billionaire threw his money away without having something to win.

"Umm, Anna, I think you don't understand this, but this is business. The kind of money your parents need isn't the kind of amount we can just loan them and hope they pay back. Nope, we have to have some security and you, my dear are that security." I said to her and licked my lips after running my eyes through the length of her. Whatever dress that was, it was a lovely one. Her curves were accentuated.

I could see the young lady staring at me with fire in her eyes, but I knew that the fire would only remain in her eyes. I never allowed anyone to have the effrontery to talk to me as they pleased.

She breathed in and out twice in a bid to calm down.

"Okay, fine. What if we list your parents as shareholders in the company? The moment the company picks up we pay them back and they can make so much profit from us." She suggested again.

I wondered if this girl had the bone to give up or not.

I wanted to tell her that her plan wouldn't work, but I kept my lips sealed. It wasn't like I was in love with her and planning to live my whole life with her.

My mother had come to me with the proposal. I was going to decline, but when my mom told me to please do it for her, I couldn't turn her down so I agreed to marry Anna. This wasn't because I liked her, but because I have always wondered what it would be like to have someone at your beck and call when you needed to have sex.

"So, you promise to propose the alternative to your parents?" She demanded.

"Yeah," I shrugged.

"Great," she replied.

In that instant, we both heard the laughter from our parents as they walked back to us and in that moment, I leaned into Anna and placing my lips on hers, gave her a short but hot kiss.

"Aww. I can see you both are getting along." Mrs. McGregor acknowledged the kiss we had just shared.

"Umm..." Anna murmured confused by the kiss.

"Yeah, we are." I quickly cut in. "Anna is such a lovely woman and I can't wait to make her my wife," I said with a bright smile on my face.

Anna's smile faltered, but she quickly got the memo in a microsecond. Her smile grew wider and she intertwined her palm with mine.

"Yes, we can't wait." She beamed.

From the corners of my eyes, I could see the bright smile on our parent's faces. Great! It was time to get this game on the way.
