I stood rigid on the spot and at lost for words. My mouth was slightly parted and I became dumbfounded.

My eyes narrowed back to the little girl who had her arms encircled around my legs before wandering back to lock with the furious orbs of Braden.

He was trying so hard not to show how upset he had become but I could clearly see the wreckage that had become of his nerves.

He glared at my direction, his stares dagger like which frightened me and almost made me jump out of my skin.

Why was he angry at me? Was it because his daughter referred to me as the 'new mummy'?

It was absurd for him to get fueled up with rage all because of that little utterance.

"Daddy is she the new mummy? Why aren't you saying any thing?" the girl whined, almost sobbing.

Nicholas chuckled at her childish gimmicks whilst Braden fumed, obviously not happy with his eyes still stationed at me.
