Chapter 14~ The Contract

EMILY:

I stood at the entrance of the office wondering if this was actually the right decision I was making. Could I sacrifice the revenge I wanted on Tyler and Karen because of the little girl who had made me remember my baby?

I felt pity for her. What had she been through that still makes her isolate herself from the world? Another thing I was curious about was just how exactly he knew her. I had no idea he had a soft spot.

I sucked a deep breath and then rasped a knock on the door hoping to get an answer immediately, but I got none. I waited for a few minutes but there was still no answer.

I touched the door knob and found out it was locked. I heaved deeply and then turned around to walk away, but then she came to my view.

The lady I had seen killed her best friend some days ago. "Hello." She greeted me, but I didn't wave back immediately. I didn't know why I was always so scared around her, and thinking back, I recalled she had called a man's name in their conversation.

"You look
