Chapter 15

RACHAEL'S POV

I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest as I stood outside Davina's office. The words I had overheard Athena uttering to her echoed in my mind, filling me with a mix of anger and desperation. I needed to set things straight, to make Davina understand the truth.

Pushing open the heavy wooden door, I found Davina sitting behind her desk, her expression a mixture of surprise and annoyance. "What are you doing here?" she snapped, her voice laced with frustration.

"I need to talk to you," I pleaded, my voice trembling. "Athena is lying. She said I used her, but that's not true. I never-"

Davina interrupted me, her voice sharp and cutting. "Save it. All I ever did was help you, and you betrayed me. I trusted you, and you've proven yourself unworthy."

My heart sank as she uttered those words, and I felt a knot forming in my throat. How could she believe Athena's lies so easily? I had to make her understand, to make her see the truth.
