Evelyn noticed how all of them stopped smiling and had serious faces.
"What are you doing, wife?" His deep voice near her ear had her flinching as she moved back to look at him with her cheek full.
She hurriedly munched and gulped the food down, and all the while he kept looking at her. One of his hands rested on the counter as he caged her from one side with his body.
"Breakfast," she mumbled in a small voice.
She noticed that he was wearing a crisp black button-down shirt with black slacks. His hair was combed back neatly and he was also wearing a tie along with a silver wristwatch. She thought he went to work. Why was he still there?
