CHAPTER 5: Chaos & Death

AURORA-

“A-- Aurora, Aurora Ogre” I spoke and he grew exceptionally close to my face leaning on forward that I could feel his breath on my neck.

The scent that led me here grew stronger as his body came close to mine and I pushed him abruptly in panic, I didn’t know why I moved away from him but felt a need to run as if my instincts were shouting that I was about to get in trouble.

“Catch her” not long after I heard a loud roar from behind and realized that misfortune had knocked my door. I kept on running with all my might and slightly turned my face back to see who’s following me.

A human couldn’t match the speed of so many hungry werewolves as I saw them running behind me, they would eventually find me because of my scent and I saw death approaching me not finding any way to get out of this bizarre situation.

Still, I didn’t give up and wanted to fight for my life till the end and kept on running in attempt to escape from those monsters, panic rushed inside my veins while I couldn’t even understand why I was being chased as the leader wasn’t angry at me earlier.

Watching them turn into a werewolf was enough traumatizing and now, running for my life is just another impossible situation I’ve found myself in. I couldn’t breathe and started feeling my lungs getting heavier as I've never really done stuff like this all my life let alone imagine it.

I tried to bunk those martial arts classes my father wanted me to attend and now I regret it, nonetheless I still would be no match in front of a werewolf. I don’t know my opponent how the fuck am I supposed to fight them?

I felt my legs getting weak as I was drained out of energy and found myself in the middle of the woods, nothing was scarier than this, being in the middle of the forest with bunch of werewolves following you for your blood.

Why the hell did I follow that scent? I started regretting every decision of mine that led me here and not to mention that the people following me know each and every corner of this forest by heart.

I had to save myself and would do anything in order to survive, but will they understand the pain and emotions of a human? I kept on looking for some place to hide from the eyes of wolves.

I had nothing that could save me and thought of climbing a tree as the last option. Sweat started trickling from my forehead touching the ground and my heartbeat increased as I gulped.

I could see death approaching me as I saw so many hungry monsters running like crazy in order to kill me, I couldn’t escape and didn’t find any way that could help me see tomorrow’s sunshine.

The time I never wanted arrived within a few seconds and I saw a bunch of werewolves walking towards the tree I was hiding at. They sensed my scent and started howling making me close my eyes in extreme terror as I could die any moment.

Perhaps they can’t climb a tree and I took a huge breath in relief as I saw a ray of hope, but their continuous howling ran shiver down my body making it numb and unable to move.

“Mr. Arthur, she’s on the tree” I saw two humans strolling in my direction and got intrigued in knowing their identity. Of course, he couldn’t be my savior as humans don’t have the nerve to fight werewolves and that too these many altogether.

All of them suddenly looked at him and he raised his hand ordering something, I got sure that he was part of the same clan and is here for my life. I don’t know what sin I committed to find myself in this situation as breaking in never weighed this much.

“Go…” he spoke and they moved a few steps backward listening to his commands, I knew I can’t stay in this place as its obvious I'm caught. I couldn’t find anything that could help me save myself from these giant beasts.

“Are you coming down or should I do the honors?” he spoke in a loud voice looking dead in my eyes and I gulped, I didn’t want to stand on the same ground as them. My father won’t even find my pieces once I'm eaten by these wolves.

I gripped onto the branch of the tree tightly and he walked in my direction, he looked at me for a while as I was whimpering in fear and suddenly punched the bark of the tree.

It felt like an earthquake and which shook the whole tree, I screamed loudly as I was on the verge of falling but somehow gripped onto the branch nonetheless, I slipped from it, I still couldn’t let go and hung upon it, all I could see was death as the height I was at could kill me if I fall.

“Plead our boss, perhaps he’d show some mercy or die jumping from that height” he spoke in a loud voice looking at me and my hands started slipping terribly, I tried to hold onto it but couldn’t and saw myself losing the grip as every moment passed by.

I whimpered loudly preferring hanging on the branch but would never go to the monsters who claim certain things I didn’t have surety of. I was screaming loudly as my arms were hurting severely and getting numb in pain.

He didn’t give up either and punched the bark once again making it shake terribly yet again but heavier than the previous time, no matter how hard I tried or cried I saw myself falling from such a height not being able to resist the power his punch had.

I didn’t want to give up but lost even after a lot of struggles, the ground was growing nearer to my face and my speed was increasing gradually while falling from a height and panic rushed in my veins.

I don’t know what they will do to me and all I could see was my father’s face as if I was looking at it for the last time. I started recalling several things I never knew of as Mr. Alaric is a werewolf considering that fact that he is related to these monsters.

He is my dad’s rival and a werewolf would never benefit fighting a human as there’s no use to battle with a weakling when you know what the outcome would be. So perhaps, my dad’s a werewolf too? Is he like them?

If he’s like them then….

“So am I?” I spoke and my body thumped loudly while I was imagining weird things. I couldn’t keep my mind working anymore and fell unconscious not knowing what happened next.
