The Bloody Truce

The meeting was finally over, I think it was clear that there was no stopping Zach when it came to expressing himself when he was pissed. That was what I had learned.

They were all heading out and I followed closely behind until I was stopped by the aged woman.

“Rue, dear. A word?” She flashed me a warm smile, her eyes trained on me.

Cassie whispered, “As long as you are respectful, you’ll live.” She chuckled before walking out with Alpha Zach and Beta Mark.

Her words kept echoing in my head, I was going to use them as a guide to help me deal with the elders.

I gulped, staying back until they were gone. The room was quiet when the door closed, I could not dare to look in the eyes of any of the elders, so I just kept staring at the marble tiles on the floor.

I could almost see my reflection due to how clean the tiles were.
