Oliver adjusted the crooked tie on his neck for the umpteenth time that evening. He was nervous, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he was going for that stupid gala, but everything to do with the fact that he wanted to see Kayla. Heck, the need to see her was so much that it felt like he couldn’t breath.

He had been stupid to leave her like that. But then again, he had been confused. He didn’t want a mate, still. But with Kayla…

Tonight, he had kept his hair fall in its real curly nature. And had picked the blackest suit he could find. With a black shirt and tie. And looking at his reflection in the mirror, Oliver was satisfied.

He looked like a vampire. Oh, and he did feel like one sometimes.

But the blood that ran through his veins were that of a hot-blooded werewolf.
