A new beginning for all!

Starlight Pack

A few moments Earlier ....

At the Pack House.

"Your Mom, I don't know she ...." Jethro stopped talking halfway as he lost his mind link with Killian.

He slowly held onto his chest as he staggered backwards trying to keep his stand.

Suddenly he heard a small consistent clap and he slowly looked up to see who it was.

It was Eliza, she stood a little bit away from him, smiling sinisterly. Her eyes betrayed her true intentions.

"What's wrong, Eliza?" Jethro asked, his voice barely a whisper.

"You should know," Eliza replied, her voice laced with venom.

"I sold you out!" She added in a scornful whisper and began laughing, her laughter sly and loud as it echoed throughout the room.

"It was all part of the plan!"

"Well it's good to see you and the Luna, loose your abilities before dying" she added the corner of her lips curled into a smirk.

Jethro's eyes widened in shock and horror. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Eliza had been one of the Luna's most trusted members. He had never suspected her of betraying him.

"What plan?" Jethro asked, trying to keep his voice steady"What are you talking about?"

Eliza chuckled darkly.

"Well apparently the person I sold you out to is a human and werewolf hunter!, He needed an experiment specimen and he wanted you, who am I to say no to his mouth watering offer!" She whispered.

Jethro's heart sank. He had been the alpha of the pack for decades, and now he wanted to sit back and watch Killian lead the pack fearlessly, but it seemed everything was over now. He looked around the room, hoping to see a glimmer of hope, but all he saw was his wife lifeless body sprawled on the bed. He knew he was done for.

"Why would you do this to your own kind Eliza, I treated you like my own!" He lamented getting weaker by the second, as he slowly dropped to the floor.

"No!!" She growled immediately.

"You treated me like an omega!" She yelled.

"Now one last thing, I have to get your body to the hunter and disappear for life!"

"This is your last chance Eliza, to repent and be redeemed" Jethro said and she laughed.

"I don't need any such chance!" She replied.

"Why the hell are you not dying, your wife made it easier for me!" She lamented with a small smile.

"I guess you're just gonna have to die by my own hands!" She said as she began to move closer to him menacingly.

Jethro could only sit there and let her do whatever, it was the end anyway.

Just then, the door busted open, and Killian stormed in breathlessly as he stopped to catch his breath, his heart pounding in his chest. He had ran all the way back to the pack's house.

"What's going on here?!" He asked looking in between his life less mom, Eliza and his helpless dad on the floor.

"Dad!" Killian exclaimed, rushing to Jethro's side.

"What's going on? Why is Eliza here?"

Jethro tried to speak, but his throat was too dry. He gestured to Eliza, who stood smirking in the corner.

"Eliza...she..." Jethro gasped, struggling to get the words out.

Killian's eyes narrowed as he looked at Eliza. He had never trusted her or even trusted anyone to begin with, but he had never imagined she would stoop so low as to try and kill his parent.

"You did this?" Killian asked, his voice cold and angry.

Eliza shrugged.

"His reign was over anyway and we needed a specimen!"

"You have no right to decide who lives and who dies," Killian growled. "You'll pay for this."

Eliza laughed. "And what are you going to do about it, little pup?"

Killian's eyes blazed with anger. He was no longer a pup. He was a full-grown wolf and the Alpha of their pack, and he would do anything to protect his family and his pack. He lunged at Eliza, his teeth bared.

He immediately reached forward as he pierced his hands sharply through her right chest and ripped out her heart.

"Arggghh!" She yelled slowly going down on her knees as Killian squeezed her heart in his hands.

"No!" Jethro gasped, struggling to sit up. "That's not what we stand for. We're a pack, not a bunch of killers."

"You're just an ordinary Omega, whom we saved from discrimination and you decided to do this to us!"

"From now henceforth, Omegas will always be treated less than slaves!" He growled.

"You're the Alpha, you shouldn't be making rash decisions because of one person's misdeeds!" Jethro whispered.

Killian hesitated for a moment, trying to process his father's words, he slowly turned to look at his lifeless mother again, his eyes were already bloodshot red and filled with tears but not one tear dropped. Tears were a sign of weakness.

He looked down at Eliza heart in his hand, he could tell it was an human heart, she wasn't even an omega!, he slowly looked up at her definitely she must have been masquerading as one of them when she actually wasn't, she looked up at him with a small smirk, feeling no remorse. He gave it another tight angry squeeze and she let out a loud scream still not begging for her life.

"Don't do it Killian!" His father whispered again, by now the Pack warriors had began to come in and they took strategic position in the room.

"Don't let her make you become a murderer!" He added, his voice becoming lower by the second as life was already seeping out of him.

"I don't mind!" Killian replied, his voice low and dangerous, no one said anything again as they just stared at him waiting for his next reaction.

"Arggghh!" He yelled as he lunged at her and placed her heart back in her chest.

"Take her to the dungeon," he growled and the warrior rushed forward at once as they pushed her up from the floor roughly and dragged her out.

"Dad please don't do this, how am I meant to lead the pack without you!" Killian asked as he fell to his knees beside his father who was already sprawled on the floor.

"You made the perfect choice today Killian, and I hope that you'll continue to do that as the alpha of this pack!" He whispered.

"Remember, one filthy human doesn't qualify the rest of other humans!" He added and finally closed his eyes in death.

And for the first time in all of Killian's twenty-one years of living tears slipped out of his eyes and slowly landed on his father's cheeks.

"Arghhhh" he yelled as loud as his voice could go in anguish.

That night, the whole pack felt the agony of their Alpha!.

One week Later

Lyra slowly moved away from the window she was standing by, she was tired of staring out.

It's been five days since they moved here, and most of the times she was home alone.

Her brothers had already left as they usually leave, to a place she had no idea about.

Her five-day stay her had been the real definition of boredom.

She hissed angrily as she walked to the entrance, took her coat and put it on. She was going for a walk.

"Hi, Good Evening," she heard someone greet and she turned to look at the guy next door who was waving at her.

"Hi" she murmured and walked away not sparing him another glance.

He had been trying to talk to her for the past five days since they moved in and she actually wasn't interested.

Lyra walked along the trail, the air crisp and cool against her skin, she suddenly found herself standing at the edge of a familiar forest. It was the same forest she had seen countless times in her dreams - towering trees with leaves rustling gently in the breeze, moonlight filtering through the branches to dapple the forest floor with light and shadow.

At first, she couldn't believe her eyes. Was this really happening, or was she still in a dream? She tentatively reached out to touch the nearest tree trunk, feeling the rough bark against her fingertips. It was real. This was really happening.

As she walked deeper into the forest, the feeling of familiarity grew stronger with every step. She recognized the way the trees were arranged, the way the moonlight played across the forest floor, the sound of birdsong echoing through the trees. It was as if she had been here a hundred times before.

After walking deep into the forest she stood still as she folded her hands across her chest and stared quietly at the moon, Instantly she felt peace and comfort wash over her, she was exactly where she needed to be and she could feel it.

Killian was on the other side of the forest, the only thing preventing them from seeing each other was a broad tree between them.

The past five days had been a strong battle for Killian as he tried to live with his parents death while still tending to the needs of the pack.

He took in a deep breath, immediately his nose twitched as he caught a scent that was both familiar and intoxicating. It was a scent that he had been waiting for his entire life. Sweet, earthy, and undeniably feminine. It was a scent that made his heart race and his instincts kick into high gear - his mate scent.

His heart raced as he followed the scent, the anticipation building with every step.

As he stepped into the clearing, he saw her for the first time. She was beautiful, with long flowing hair, her skin glowed under the bright moon. He felt his breath catch in his throat as he took in her beauty and grace.

For a moment, he simply stood there, taking in the sight of her. He felt a rush of emotions wash over him - desire, protectiveness, and a deep sense of connection that he couldn't explain.

"Mate!" He finally whispered in ectasy.

As she turned to face him, their eyes met, and he felt a jolt of electricity run through his body.

Immediately Lyra eyes met his, she couldn't help but stare at him, captivated by his striking appearance. His sharp cheekbones, chiseled jawline, and piercing blue eyes were unlike anything she had ever seen before.

As he stepped closer to her, she felt a flutter in her stomach. She was mesmerized by him, unable to look away from his intense gaze.

"Mate!" Killian murmured again as moved towards her, his body vibrating with excitement. Immediately he got to where she was standing he buried his nose in her hair, inhaling deeply.

Another familiar scent hit Killian and just like a reset both of them pulled away immediately.

"What the heck!" Lyra yelled immediately finally coming to her senses.

"Get off me weirdo!"

Who was this uncultured guy calling her mate in the middle of no where, was the only thought that was running through her mind as she pushed him off her roughly.

Killian stared at her, confusion and anger flashing through his eyes, how dare the Moon Goddess give him an human mate?! Just five days after he suffered a cruel fate in the hands of an human!.

Lyra just stood there staring at him, trying to fathom what the word mate meant and why he was staring at her that way.

Killian stared deep down Lyra's eyes and she couldn't pinpoint the emotion his eyes was portraying.

"I Killian Winterfur, the son of Alpha Jethro, hereby reje ..." Killian began and Lyra's furrowed brow grew deeper in confusion.
