Chapter 12
Over the last two days Hugo’s responses to Sarai were less frequent and she could feel a distance creeping between them; it was stupid to think that Sarai was falling in love with Hugo, yet here she was falling unwaveringly inlove with a man she had just gone out with once. Sarai could not wait to see Hugo again, she was ready to surrender herself to his love.
Sarai was leaving the bakery a little early on Sunday when her phone beeped, she saw that Hugo had texted her,
“Sarai, we cannot be together”
Sarai’s eyes filled with tears, if she had just controlled her heart and impulses then this wouldn’t have happened, Sarai pulled herself together and got into her car and replied
“Can I call you?”
“Yes”
